Another unreal scoop
Dodge doesnāt agree.
What did the Dow do??
Good call.
Positive evening after a sluggish start.
Great to see Peter Casey get his first senior start of the year with a goal and a couple of points off the bench.
No major injuries either, other than Kyles Hayesās ankle. Hopefully that was just a precaution.
Couldnāt have asked for any more out of that game really. Casey singled out for great praise.
SCORERS: Limerick: Aaron Gillane 1-6 (0-2frees), Tom Morrissey 0-5, Peter Casey 1-3, Graeme Mulcahy and Diarmaid Byrnes (0-1 '65) 1-1 each, Kyle Hayes 1-0, Gearoid Hegarty 0-2, Cian Lynch, Seamus Flanagan, Darragh OāDonovan and Barry Nash 0-1 each.
Job done.
Won without exerting ourselves, no injuries it seems, no suspensions and more minutes on the pitch for Peter Casey. All went to plan.
Roll on next weekend.
Now Iām off to get inebriated in a Carlow public house(s).
Enjoy pal!
Casey will push hard to start next weekend.
Carlow should really have been in front after 14 minutes. Had some abysmal wides and got stuck straight into Limerick. Their number 12 caught the first two puck outs ahead of Byrnes. He subsequently went down like a sack of spuds after about ten minutes and I thought we were in trouble again. It was like someone flicked a switch after 20 minutes. 2 quick goals from Mulcahy and Gillane put an end to it.
Second half Limerick seemed content to keep them at arms length but the subs obviously had a point to prove. It took Peter Casey a few minutes to get into it but he looked sharp and in fairness and lot of ball was sent his way to get him invloved. Last 20 was a free for all with no shape to it.
While the ground looked a lot better than during the week it was still extremely coarse and led to a lot of mistakes.
By the by. Seamus Hickey will hardly start another championship match for Limerick.
Roll on next weekend and Iāll see ye all in Cork.
Only three more matches to win it out lads.
Nowt to worry about
