Limerick GAA - All-Ireland senior hurling champions 2018

Youā€™d imagine at the first sign of Kilkenny dominating in their full backline P Casey will be thrown into the fray.

Heā€™s only had one u-21 match where he looked well off it and a half against Carlow so can understand why they are keeping him in reserve.

A cracking sub to be bringing in, mind you.

Malachy for POL and Downes for Reidy and I think that would be the best 26 we have. Think Pat Ryan can definitely have an impact. Dempsey has been poor and I am still completely unconvinced by Nash. Barry Murphy seems to have disappeared off the radar completely.

That kind of talk never makes sense to me. We need to bury kk from the start. Start like a train and finish these lads off early you donā€™t want it turning into a battle.

Wouldnā€™t have described DOD as bustling or all action, but he has hit a high standard at certain periods and we will need huge workrate around the middle.

For a young lad he has played an amount of hurling this year between club, college, u-21 and senior inter county. Has looked like a lad in need of a rest in recent times.

Agreed. But Casey canā€™t be up to speed yet. Mullcahy is. Casey for the last 20 is a better option for closing it out

You could simply admit you got him wrong and heā€™s been one of our best players to date. If he was a nap clubman youā€™d be waxing lyrical about him. We all get various players wrong but your tiresome insistence of every nap being better than their counter part is very boring.

Ah yeah, not knocking WOD or anything but Darragh is one of our key men. Himself and Lynch are a good mix.

Were Lynch & DOD both in the half forward line in Nowlan Park last year? I canā€™t quite remember but think they were. Having them both at midfield improves the team significantly straight off.

Dod complements cian lynch so well. Constantly cover his runs too and has loads of hurling. Covered ridiculous ground v cork and tipp. Sideline ability another plus. A key man and one we need for 70 mins.

DOD played very very well v Cork and Waterford, until 50 mins or so anyway. He didnā€™t do well against Tipp or Clare. He is our second best midfielder for sure. I donā€™t think he is a perfect ā€œfoilā€ for Lynch, I think if we had a Jimbob type doing the unglamorous workhorse stuff it would free Lynch from tackling and getting involved in rucks and would be a better balanced pairing. But you have to get your best players on the field. DOD was midfield last year, he needs to be more involved this year.

No, Donovan was midfield with Browne against Kilkenny last year. Lynch was in the half forward line.
Iā€™m very happy with the team named for Sunday. I think weā€™re going to do it

O donovan was outstanding v tipp.

Hardly outstanding now

Lynch is one of the best players in the country when it comes to rucks. The last thing you want to do is free him from that.

Exactly he kind of kicks it along and flicks it up. Class act.

Second man in where one of his lightning pick ups snatches the ball and heā€™s gone is ideal, I honestly donā€™t think the donkey work of tackling and rucking is the best use of his talents. Get him on the ball in space more.

It doesnā€™t matter what heā€™s actually doing heā€™ll still be our best player at doing it and our best player on the field.

Get it into yeir heads Malachy is gone from panel , and unless a massive attitude change , he wont see a green jersey for a ling time. Fails to train and in this set up that is treacherous.

There was issues with him in the past in the 21s set up under kiely. Kiely has put a lot of effort into him on a personal level and itā€™s a pity he isnā€™t repaying him.

That is the pallasgreen way
