I’ll probably get slated but Gillane was the only one who disappointed me a bit today. He doesn’t seem as tuned in as the other forwards which leads to him having to battle for ball he could have been winning clean.

I’m going to get lynched for this but there’s a touch of the kevin Downes about him in the sense that he almost always nearly gets it perfect but rarely does. He either slipped or dropped the Hurley etc. can be very frustrating at times. He’d the beating of his man all day.

That score from Tom was unreal, took off and on the run nailed it, it was a huge score in the game

I thought he was very good, personally. Got a little too caught up in handbags with Deegan in the second half. Stay in your toes and the fouls are more obvious.

He roasted him really, what did he get, 3 from play? A lovely pass to Dowling too.

Flanagan didn’t have his best day but in the opening 20 minutes when Kilkenny were on top all over he got a few vital scores and set up a very good score too. Tried to set up two goals that could have been easy points for himself and miscontrolled a ball for another goal chance.

He’s running out of chances, was limericks least impressive forward today and the subs were decent

Flanagan didn’t have his best day but in the opening 20 minutes when Kilkenny were on top all over he got a few vital scores and set up a very good score too. Tried to set up two goals that could have been easy points for himself and miscontrolled a ball for another goal chance.

Flanagan had his man bate up a stick but his decision making was pretty poor. The full forward line all had the better of their men. Mulcahy absolutely roasted Murphy, but just didn’t get enough ball.

Ya while the first goal chance looked on the one where he flicked it into Gillane in the second half was far too risky at that point the game.

I would say Flanagan and Gillane were the two who did the least.

Just after watching the Buffs snaps there and as he’d say himself Morriseys point was absolutely iconic

I was surprised Pat Ryan didn’t come on. Morrissey actually wasn’t great throughout the game and gave away possesion a few times through woeful handpasses. But the scores to respond to the goal and particularly to win the game were absolutely majestic.

Hard to argue against Casey starting the next day. Brought a different class when he came on.
