Don’t think so. Saw him a few years ago out the field. I was told by a member of the Mallow club that he is a very good player (admittedly a couple of years ago). Beefy is doing good work coaching underage down there as well.

You can’t force someone to play for a county they don’t want to play for.
If he’s been raised by a Limerick family, supporting Limerick, and he’s good enough, why wouldn’t he want to play for Limerick rather than Cork?
I’m not sure on the exact rules but it’s definitely fair that you should be eligible, at least, from the counties of your parents.
Maybe we could use the grandparents rule to find ourselves a half forward?

Didn’t Delaney D’Arcy avail of this rule for Leitrim back in the 90s. But I thought there was some rule stating that you could only declare for your father’s county if they were deemed a " weaker county:

Who was born in Dromkeen, lived there until he was 9 or 10… has played with Limerick since he was about 13, played hurling with Kilteely/Dromkeen during his formative years. Transferred back to a Tipp club in his final year of minor.
I know he lives in Newport but he’s definitely Limerick.
Would have been very easy for him to get involved with Tipp underage if he wanted, would have won an All-Ireland last year. But he didn’t.

HE was involved with tipp underage up to under 16s. Never played a game for kilteely when he switched back.
