Nash & Timmons?

I think they’re both good, but was more impressed by the fella from Knockainey the year before. One of the stickiest corner-backs I’ve ever seen for Limerick.

The 2013 team were better than 2014 . The championship in 2013 was of a much higher standard .

Timmons has a good future. Also Nicholas from last years team. Jack o Grady should have been on the senior panel imo also. He’s a serious operator. He’s 20 now and don’t recall him playing fitzgibbon either so being one the squad is very beneficial.

Brian Ryan will be on the senior panel once he’s finished his exams.

Not sure WOD actually played Championship at minor level.

And if you think he has made “the breakthrough”, then surely Barry Nash & Tom Morrissey have? Players who have actually intercounty Championship. Whether from the bench or the start Nash & Casey will almost certainly play in the Championship.

They would be better off leaving him to play a year at U21 level.

People were saying the same thing about Kyle hayes.

When we hit that we are hard stopped. I expect it will be there this year as it was under Allen and in 2014.

How did Gavin go yesterday, I know he only got about 10 minutes?

And Casey? Neither he nor Mulcahy scored, but sounds like Mulcahy was his usual busy self. Probably need him to get a couple of scores per game.

The Declan Hannon question arises again he was close to finishing out his first win at 6 it was 7/10 performance if Limerick are to do anything it has to get to 9/10

Obviously a 9/10 would be nice and if he want to go all the way, I’d agree.

But do we have anyone that would get more than 7/10 on a regular basis??

Yes and I’d still be concerned for him.Lets face it Kyle has a lot more size plus he has a winter training season under (we hope) proper supervision. Brian Ryan is studying for the leaving so I presume has fuck all training done bar hurling schools with ASR. For his long term benefit let the lad have a few weeks off, enjoy the summer and think about hurling next year. We will flog all our young hurlers to death.

I think of options it looks like Hannon really who else out there Kyle Hayes has played trial matches at 7, Hegarty OMahony Byrne’s all wing backs Hickey is next for 6.

At this stage, it looks like it will definitely be Hannon.

I didn’t think he’d make it, in general he has allowed games to pass him by a bit and I worried about his lack of acceleration and defensive instincts. But he has done pretty well to date. Not top class but it’s still a new position for him at this level and his delivery to the forwards is so much better than the two beside him. Of course that means we need him on the ball quite a bit from centre-back.

If Hannon were to get injured, it looks like it would be Hickey who is a completely different type of centre-back to Hannon. And Gavin would probably come in on the wing.

If he does bed properly into the position, Hannon definitely has the class to deliver those performances you’re looking for. It would be great to see him back to his best.

Crecora’s Karl Moloney is set to be captain of the Limerick minor football team. Colm Moran of Mungret vice-captain.

Has the panel been announced?

Not publicly released yet, I’d say tomorrow.

Good to finish on a high. Potential team for Championship if Buckley & Ryan return?

Scanlon
Noonan McCarthy O’Dea
White Corbett Fanning
Treacy Ward
Donovan Neville Buckley
O’Carroll Ryan Collins

Daly, Quinn, McCarthy, Hannon & Fahy as potential defensive subs.

Josh Ryan potentially in midfield or full-forward.

Nash, Sheehan, Scanlon, Killian Ryan, Lee up front?

Oh I have no idea who is on it. Apart from those two fellas. But I presume that the last cut has been made and the players know.
