The league in Limerick hurling is a joke. Played in the main midweek which rules out a lot of these kids anyway as they are in college. But ok it’s a valid point but they wouldn’t play it on the same day as the seniors are playing
Just seems bizarre throwing another intercounty competition into the mix. Fine if its Intermediate and allows lads below senior and who will never play senior have a run out, but just seems pointless. Turning into a dev squad is a load of bollocks entirely.
I’ll always have a bit of time for him as a ref, in the trilogy decider v Tipp in 2007 he denied Lar Corbett and Tipp a blatant free in to level it at the death.
We went down the other end and Ollie drilled one over to extend the gap to two.
We’ve drifted to 2/1 with the bookies, everyone is writing us off, so they are. We’re only the little fishes.
The only thing for sure is that by 5.35 on Sunday we’ll be either written off as Nicky Rackard Cup standard or the hotel will be provisionally booked for September
I wish I had the optimism of others. I hope - God I hope - we can do it Sunday, but I can see us setting up wrong and being overrun by Clare in the middle third of the park. Normally the optimism has taken over by this stage, but not in 2017. If we do hit the ground running, all passions and doubts aside, Clare are weaker than they think they are in a number of areas. We can exploit that, but only at the top of our game.
I haven’t been at a championship game in over a year. When the pipe band blares into Amhrán na bhFiann I will be close to tears of joy. There is, quite simply, nothing like it.
