They doubled it up with Davys stag in Miami to save a few quid

Holidays are in January. Only January, GAA teams are only allowed take holidays in January
Why not head after the county finals?
It is a complete disgrace if an intercounty team holiday delays the club championship. Not sure how anybody (if they did, I haven’t been following that closely) can defend that

Think they’re heading down to Florida for a week after the New York Classic thing whenever that is. It reminds me to get cracking on the fundraising - those boys deserve a good holiday.

the competition runs from April to the final in March of the following year. In conjunction with Munster League, College, National League and All Ireland commitments. Training, jobs, families, girlfriends, commutes all in top of that…
but yeah, let the GAA calendar decide when they get a break from it all.

The only thing that matters is club and intercounty championship. They play because they want to play, they aren’t held down with a gun and forced to play

of course they play because they want to play. That doesn’t make it right that the only time they don’t have fixed games to play is in December. The lads at the top of the tree get fuck all break from it. Fuck all. No wonder they burn out so young.
And there exists an element of people who watch (don’t play mind) that want to tell these young lads when they can go for pints, when they can go on their holidays, what’s appropriate etc, etc, etc.
sure at least if they go in January they’ll miss a few games. They’ll still all have to play in county finals. They aren’t missing anything only screwing the club players.
The only thing that matters is club championship. Without the clubs their would be no inter county team. It’s a farce if they disrupt a county final for a team holiday.

They want to play hurling mate. Players don’t want months off. The vast majority of players don’t only have December off either
You aren’t a member of a club so you wouldn’t understand. Do you think county players don’t want to play for their clubs or something?
