Peter Lawlor was our best half back in 07. He was absolutely superb in every game.

He got rinsed in the final though and I don’t think ever played much after it.
Had the potential to be an all time great. Pity he didn’t keep at it

He had a great final. How did he get rinsed? The full back line got cleaned for 10 minutes and the game was over.
Ah now. Foley was passed his peak but he put in some performance in the final.
The half back line was very good that day.

Was it Shefflin put the butt of the girl through luceys helmet? They got a goal while he was off as a blood sub. And then Eddie for away with murder on hickey too.
They bullied the full back line
If we responded in kind we’d have seen reds. There was a period there when they were untouchable. What year did Cody go on a rant against loughnane from the victory ball? It was a mistake not to have reale on Eddie for a period to quieten him.

If Brennan was on Reale then Kilkenny would have targeted Fogarty on Hickey anyway.
Lucey was on Shefflin for his goal, I think Shefflin bullied him off it and scored
He did in his Bolox. Eoin Larkin took him for four points. He hurled ball but usually straight back into Kilkenny lads and his man got four points of him. That is not a good game.
Larkin got 4 points early on when Limerick were all over the place. When the game settled Lawlor had a fine game, especially in the second half. There isn’t a man alive would mark Larkin and the game loose.

he did and so did Foley. Foley was marking Willie O’Dwyer and Lawlor was marking Larkin. Watch it back. Bar the 10 minutes at the start when the whole thing went to shit, the half back line was superb.
And Larkin scores four points off him. That is not good.
Joe Canning got 3 points from play off Deccie in the 2018 final and Deccie had a superb game. Top class forwards are going to score, especially when the game is loose. Lawlor, and the half back line had a superb game.
there was 10-15 minutes of that match at the start where Limerick backs hadn’t a fucking clue what was going on.

In the Leinster semi final Larkin got one goal, in the Leinster final he got two points, all Ireland q/f two points and in the all Ireland semi final he got two points. He rinsed lawlor in the final. Won all the balls that needed to be won and game is pretty much wrapped up after ten minutes.
