Kilmallock v Na Piarsaigh in Limerick SHC semi final next Sunday September 22 at 3.45 in LIT Gaelic Grounds. * Quarter final result Kilmallock 0-22 Ahane 1-14 * Jake Mulcahy (5) & Graeme Mulcahy (4) from play * Niall Moran (5) from play and goal from free

A lot closer than I would have expected. I know the red card must have had an impact but it was pretty close before that too, fair play to Ahane.

What age is Niall Moran? He had semi-retired a couple of years ago, and even this year hadn’t been starting every game but he always had a bit of class on his day.

Hard to see Kilmallock getting close to Na Piarsaigh without a level of performance that they haven’t shown this year.

By the standard of the last match Ballybrown have a great chance here.

BB doing there usually trick going back into the dressing rooms before throw in and being late out.

Massive. Well needed in the town, even at the start of the year when we lost to Croom and Nap there was a feeling of despair around. There is quite a big interest in GAA in NCW in fairness, but hopefully there’ll be a bigger crowd from us at the semi. If both the football and hurling teams can get to finals it’ll be huge.

A lot of young talent in hurling coming through too

Shane Kenny got the goal apparently. He’s had a great season tbf to him.

How was Diarmuid Kelly? Nix is a good ‘un, fast and elusive.

Very quiet overall. He’s an immense talent tbf and just didn’t get on a lot of ball. Scored a mighty individual point in the second half, and got better service in fairness towards the end. Nix up front was outrageous, his touch, vision, game smarts for his age is brilliant to see. Mark Kelly, Seamus Hurley and all the backs were immense in the second half.

County quarter final:

Doon 0-9 Ballybrown 1-9 HT

Doon very lucky to still have 15.

Doon have the wind second half? It’ll be a tight one, those few points in a row before half-time could be huge for Doon.

West Championship Semi

Ballysteen 4-14
Rathkeale 1-7

Danny Neville with 3-6
