I think at mid field. Came on for Pat Ryan who had been going quite well.
I didnāt have a programme so it was hard to follow. I thought one of the wing forwards and no11 good but I would not criticise any player on yesterdays performance. Collins looked good in goals but lost put on one or two physical challenges. The ref was very inconsistent. He would go from blowing for a fair shoulder to forgetting he had a whistle. In general I think the Cork srlectors would be happy that tbey have a talent pool. Now all they need is a 3 and a 6.
Edit; Dan Kearney was ruling midfield until he had to go off injured
Interesting.
I can only remember him playing half-back at senior level last year. Despite him doing well in midfield for the 21s last year, I think Iād prefer him at half-back or in the forwards somewhere.
I really think heās a super player and Iād have him starting this year.
Number 7 or midfield for me,he can play anywhere up to corner forward and do a job heās a very good player.
Where? I donāt think midfield is his best position and a few of last years u21s ahead of him at half back or in the forwards I think.
Anywhere really.
Iād have him as one of our 3 best half-backs, I think, particularly as there are a couple of candidates playing in the forwards.
If those were moved back to the backs, he would then be one of our 3 best half-forwards too.
Iāve always liked him in the corner, at minor & U-21 level. Obviously a big step up at senior intercounty and maybe heās not a free enough scorer for that position at the highest level. But the way we were playing last season, heād have been exactly the type of player for thereā¦ he fights for absolutely everything and when he gets the ball, he likes to take on a man and go for goal.
Heād certainly do a job in midfield too, but I think heād be of more use elsewhere.
Interesting little quiz here to keep you amused for a few minutes:
Link to the original quiz for those who donāt want to click on that cunt of a site. Better formatted too.
A bit out of date too, couple of defunct clubs coming up.
This doesnāt overly worry me at this time of year to be honest.
Weāve been so bad with the ball for the past few years that we need desperately to do something about it. Now I know that short passing all the way up the pitch is shite and incredibly frustrating, but at least itās getting it into their heads that they need to give the person receiving the pass a chance at winning it.
It sounded like we were at least trying to give the inside forwards good ball this time though, and that has to be the priority. Give good, quick ball in front of the full-forward line and theyāll do damage. But you have to give them a chance with the delivery.
Casey,Nash and Gillane would do serious damage as an inside 3 if the ball in was right.
Happy new year to my Limerick buddy s
Many happy returns Joe
i would like your opinions on this
name the 3 best defenders you saw this year at club level - adult grade
name the 3 best midfielders in limerick you witnessed this year at club level - adult grade
name the best forwards you saw this year at club level - adult grade
Please state 1st, second, third.
I would also like each of you to justify your selections.
thanks
Jesus, is that you John?
I watched the u21 campaign over the holidays, that is a very talented squad.
Aaron Gillane should have got yhoty for 17. He is a fucking wrecking machine.
Is it that obvious.
Just trying to prove a point to someone - I believe this to be a very interesting set of questions.
Hurling or football?
Can we name as many forwards as we like?
Be careful around here with questions, the county board had 20 of them for Tom Ryan and then buried him the old Limerick way.
totally forgot to specify - this is for hurling.
if you feel the need to add more than 3 - go ahead.
thanks
