The rest of Ireland have their tongues hanging out looking on at the splendor and panache of the quality of hurlers we have here on Treatyside.
Take it up with the GAA mate. Its their award. Gillane won the award he deserved to win
Iāll humour you red head, the Bull McCabe will humour youā¦
In my opinion
Best/Most Consistent Club Defenders I saw:
3rd - Seamie Hickey Murroe Boher
2nd - Tom Grimes Na Piarsaigh
1st - Richie English Doon
Forwards -
Pat Ryan Doon
Peter Casey Na Piarsaigh
SeƔn Tobin Murroe Boher
Midfielders
Not easy this one but Iād go
Alan Dempsey Na Piarsaigh
Jake Mulcahy Kilmallock
Darragh OāDonovan Doon
Of the 32 club teams in Limerick from Intermediate to Senior, the only two I didnāt see play last year were Bruff & Hospital/Herbertstown, althoough I did end up seeing a few junior teams aswell.
Obviously I only saw some of those teams play in challenge matches, when they may not have been at full-strength, but I doubt many people saw every single team play in Championship.
I also have inherent biases, and it can be hard to judge a player off just a game or two when the standard of opposition may vary greatly but:
Forwards at Club Grade 2017
Seanie Tobin
Aaron Gillane
Peter Casey
Thatās not including Darren & Barry OāConnell, who absolutely tortured defences in the Intermediate Championship this year, particularly against Glenroe & Dromin/Athlacca respectively. Shout out to David Reidy also who was superb for Dromin/Athlacca. Donie Ryan is also still as lively as ever.
Midfield at Club Level 2017
Colin Ryan
Jamie Butler
Dylan Sheehan
(Although I was very impressed with Robbie Hanley play on a couple of occasions; he didnāt always start at midfield, but moved out there and was superb).
Defenders at Club Level 2017
Richie English
Seamus Hickey
Stephen Walsh
Thanks Aristotle and Breaking my Balls
English at full-back, OāMeara at wing-back, ALTC at midfield the most interesting parts.
OāDonovan has been picked a lot at wing-forward too. Nash at 11 over Lynch too.
Itās Kerry a game of nothing
Dempsey has been wing back most of the season.
Good to see young OāMeara get a twist, even itās only Kerry. Good bit of stuff, that young fella. Hope he sees more game time down the road.
Are you Mr keily?
Wouldnāt be surprised
Where are we going.
If limerick are to improve on last year which was a very low year, the worst since 2010 imo, surely the players brought in to the squad over the winter need to improve on what went before them.
Since the start of last year - Paudie OāBrien, Seanie Tobin, John Fitzgibbon, Kevin OāBrien, Seanie OāBrien (all removed from panel) Gavin O Mahoney, James Ryan have retired to name a few.
Replace these players with La Touche Cosgrave, Lyons, OāMeara, OāReilly, Hedderman, Boylan, Flanagan, Mackey - if these lads are going to make you competitive for an all ireland campaign or improve last years panel of players should they all be guaranteed starters on their club team and u21 county team a few months ago? Have these players lit up the club scene that the mgt had no option but to call them up.
The answer is no
Limerick needs the best players available and since last year we got no where close.
This issue imo needs to be rectified.
That rumor of a B competition was total wank, donāt be worrying.
I wonder does he read this forum
I think I will leave this forum so - I thought we could win an all irl
Who should be on the panel that isnāt?
Itās Kerry FFS
John Kiely is not able for the Limerick job, would make a grand selectorā¦I dont like saying it.
Last year was appallingā¦and I donāt see anyone on the management team changing thatā¦would give B Geary the benefit of the doubt as a selectorā¦otherwise its up to Kinnerk to deliverā¦which I fear is a big stretch.
Will you give it a fucking rest with that shit mate, itās January, seriously!
Give him at least another year ffs. Look at Donoghue with Galway, lots of doubters in year 1 and delivered an AI in year 2. Keep the faith.
