Dowling would thrive in the current system. If heās fit he starts every time IMO.

He completely negate the threat of gillane and Casey. His best position is probably half forward but he isnāt going to get in ahead of hayes or Hegarty.
How many inter county goals has Flanagan got? He scored two points against a hapless Dublin the last night. Couldnāt even start for the 21ās last year. Heās promising but relax yourself FFS.

Flanagan will be an absolute star. Dowling goal scoring record for a natural goal scorer is appalling in recent years.

Long high ones which is exactly what suits him. Dowling is going to thrive on low quick diagonal ball.

Gillane is nowhere close to dowling on frees, especially from distance. Ridiculous statement. Flanagan had a goal on a plate against Dublin and made no go of it at all. He has nothing like the vision or creativity Dowling has. He has a long way to go to be proven a starting player but I was delighted with him the last day and as i said he looks like a serious find that no one had in mind at the start of the year.
@anon32894817 has a major plank in his eye when it comes to Na P players and Dowling in particular. Itās funny that when hannon was doing sfa in the forwards he was calling for Dowling to be dropped and defending hannon to the hilt.

We dont play Cork until June 3rd - Plenty of time for the Nap lads to come back into the fold and be fit for that game and for the last three game altogether depending on what kind of break they get, if any.

Not many teams are gonna have an injection of a possible 3/4 starters come 2nd /3rd game of championship ā¦ If we get a result against Tipp and the NaP lads come in with a double hit of caffeine in their latteās - we will murder everyone.
Iāve absolutley no doubt if he went back into the forwards heād thrive again becuase heās his confidence back.
No one thrives on long high straight balls except defenders.
A high ball that a forward has a chance of making something of needs to be at an angle to allow them to turn and low enough trajectory to be coming in fast. Note posters this week praising Quaids lower trajectory long puckouts.
Lads should watch back kielys 21s teams particularly 2015. Gillane and Casey will a lot of the time play in a two man inside full forward line. With Seamus Flanagan floating out to the half forward line. Iād expect a Daragh o donovan type at 11 dropping into midfield similar to the role Cian Lynch fulfilled at under 21 level. Dowling isnāt going to start come championship. Heāll be used as an impact sub just like in 2013.
Its a new tradition. The Railway Cup games were always on Paddyās Day.
Why do they need a break? Theyāre presumably training 3/4 times a week with their club and playing the odd match. If they werenāt still involved in the All Ireland club championship theyād be training with Limerick around 3/4 times per week and playing the odd match.
