Limerick GAA - it's Box Office - Always Has Been, Always Will Be

Important to add to this that Hannon and Hickey were both gone by half time in that game too.

I’d give us a good shout in this game. We have strengthened since last year, actually physically strengthened rather than personnel-wise. Hardly surprising considering how young a lot of the team are. We appear to have hit the ground running in 2018 and have had a more settled team during this league than last year. Browne & Lynch are a miles, miles better pairing than Dempsey and WO’D. Galway have struggled to put away one or two teams we’ve blitzed. It’s the first real test of the year so it’s a bit of a step into the unknown. A quarter-final against a 1A team could well be the same, tbh.

It’s useful for putting a shape on a team. Promotion doesn’t matter, as has been borne out by recent championships.

Agree but it’s the final test of the 1B fixtures rather than the year! Edit I read it final rather than first, sorry about that

We played Galway in the League twice last year, which team was that? I would agree that this year’s team is a lot stronger if just for the midfield pairing. We were completely blown out of it in midfield both times last year.

We don’t know for sure that Lynch & Browne won’t be next weekend, but Browne is very experienced at this stage and Lynch has a touch of class about him.

I think we have a much stronger platform to build on but I would still question whether our forwards will get enough scores. I think we are moving in the right direction in this regard though.

Let no man write my epitaph until Limerick takes its place among the counties in 1A.

This can’t be emphasized enough

Boyles have it priced up

Galway 8/15
Draw 10/1
Limerick 13/8

@anon32894817 will blow his load if the handicap is around -3

If Limerick use their superior stick work and silky skills and dont get drawn into rubby scrums we will win by 6 points… Galway will look to turn this into wrestling match and out mullock us.

I disagree . Given the championship structure it is utterly vital . Team will need to be fairly settled and playing with a structure . The first two games are versus the big two and if not organized could be messy .

I honestly haven’t a clue when Lk really are now . Will be a small bit wiser next week although things look to be improving.

I’m a little unsure if you are being serious or sarcastic here – from 1b you will get at least 1 top game and a quarter final against another top side - good chance of getting another in a semi - final also, but even still - Is two decent games on the back of 4 lesser games enough prep for championship? I’d say it is - The other teams in 1a are bating ten lumps of shite out of each other and will be fucked come June -See Clare over recent seasons.

I expect limerick to win. I think they’ll be fast out of the blocks, get a lead, and whilst galway will improve, they won’t quite reel them back in. My gut instinct is that the league is less important than before, but it’s very hard to know.
I dont think galway will be massively targeting this, but it depends very much on how o Donoghue and Keily view the importance of promotion.
I think limerick will want it a bit more, but having said that, any team needs to be careful of losing games. I never saw a kk team look disinterested in winning a league game. Not peaking, yes, but less than 100% on the day, absolutely not.
If there’s a bit of interest, and a decent crowd, galway will play better.
If it’s postponed due to the weather for a week, I’d be very tempted to jump on the bike.

Two days in limerick and you’re as deluded as the rest of us.

ccha did some job on him.

In fairness he did

In fairness he did.

My daughter said to me this morning that no matter what, whether we move to limerick or stay here “we will always support galway”

That’s a pure Limerick attitude she has.

cCHA can arrange a few addresses of Limerick panel members so that you can turn up at their door and harrass them.
