What did I say to you about tides, Joe?

Just doing a bit of reading of the forum since Sunday, you let yourself down with the sour grapes over the Cork win, I thought you’d accept it with dignity.

I didn’t have a chance to catch up after Sunday mate, I was only reading your whinging a little while ago,
Sure aren’t I a Limerick man like yourself?

Taught you looked at threads no

Just doing a bit reading you said

I only caught up tonight mate, you tagged me on Sunday to congratulate the few Cork lads here but then you changed tack.

No I did not go back and read

I haven’t been able to read it all to be honest so I might be jumping the gun, earlier on today you had a bee in your bonnet about something that you deleted but then accused Cork people of whinging and being bad winners, I’m not sure of the context to be honest but I haven’t heard anyone else say that,

Strange match really.

Scored 1-28, comfortable win, missed five clear goal chances but it all feels a bit underwhelming. Went to sleep for large patches but never looked in danger at the same time. Like the minors from three years ago we can be terrific in five or ten minute periods when he can whip over an unanswered 1-04 or 1-05. Then we shut off and disappear for 10 minutes. Still a vulnerability in that full backline that Kingston, Curran and co could go to town on.

It was as bad a Clare u-21 team as I’ve ever seen. Outside of their senior lads they had little enough. That we made them look half decent for a spell in the second half is a bit worrying.

Really need to improve for a fortnight. Going to be a hell of a lot harder than tonight or the Tipp game. Hopefully home advantage can swing it our way. The continued involvement of their seniors might work against the winners tomorrow night too.

I have faith in these boys, be interesting to see Cork and Waterford tomorrow. Should be a close game.

How come these great u21 performances don’t translate in to senior ?

Teams are better. And fucking in a load of U-21s all at once is not ideal either. Senior is a completely different level altogether. Ideally, you’d blend in a few of them at a time.

The thing is, a lot of these U-21s are playing better with their clubs & probably in training than some of the older players. But experience & quality at senior level counts for a lot too.

I think we’re on the right path, there are quality hurlers coming through. This year was very disappointing at senior, I was hoping for a lot lot more. But we’re moving in the right direction. Our time will come.

Awfully dissapointing senior run this
year.

Better days are ahead…hopefully Galway win the AI and we catch them on the hop in February.

Dublin will be in the mix for promotion from 1B next year. New manager bounce, “striking” players back and a collective point to prove.

Yep but a lot of folk don’t see that,. They tend to see a rite of passage .

True enough,

But we have to be aiming higher than bolloxing around in division 2 if we want to be seriously competitive in the medium term.

1B or division 2 league hurling for 8 years in 2018 is a disaster.

I fully agree. But Limerick have been bumped out of promotion in the past - not getting results against teams they ‘expected’ to beat.

We are where we are. The table doesn’t lie. And other such clichés.
