Was it not Dan the man?

It was between the two of them but I wasn’t sure which.

Always thought it was him but after seeing Danaghers name written down I’m second guessing myself.

Of course I don’t remember which it was. I guessed. Was there not another rugby player on the Limerick side as well?

I think @rintintin is right, it was Dan Larkin. He’d have played with Garryowen.

Limerick scored 3-12 that day. You wouldn’t lose too many Munster finals with 21 points on the board.

Edit: I actually just went and looked it up. It’s the highest total ever put up by a beaten Munster finalist. Sums up Limerick football.

I think Danagher and Dan Larkin were on the panel that year .

Dan Larkin and Philip Danagher were the two rugby players on that team. I am pretty certain Danagher played on the final. Larkin was injured I think but would to me have had a better GAA background. I think Dan is involved with Mungret. I think he has a daughter kicking football with them and he manages/coaches. My recollection is that he committed to the football to a greater degree than anyone else of the rugby players. In fairness the AIL was big at the time.
Francis Brosnahan was probably the best rugby player/footballer but for some reason wasnt involved in the team at that time.Halvey turned put for Limerick briefly a couple of years later but never stuck at it

Brosnahan was a really good footballer . Outstanding with the Claughaun teams of late eighties and early nineties . Brent Pope was sent off for taking him out in the final game of 1993 AIL.

He won an AIL with Young Munster . He was an outstanding soccer player with the Borough and was on the early eighties Limerick FC Squads with Eoin Hand.

He also played in a Harty Cup final .
