Limerick GAA - it's Box Office - Always Has Been, Always Will Be

Because it feeds the strongest constantly playing against each other. Since we’ve gone to four divisions the gap between top and bottom has gotten bigger. The weak have gotten weaker and the strong have gotten stronger.

Watching the 21 back. Eoghan Mc probably should have blocked whelans goal.

Was surprised that he wasn’t at least booked in the aftermath of it too

Ya seems to go out and deck a galway lad afterwards?

What happened there? Did a Galway player come in late on a Limerick back and McNamara came out and threw him to the ground in a rage after conceding? Bizarre shit.

I would argue that was always the case, they were just playing in the same Championships as each other. And I wouldn’t agree that the weakest have gotten weaker, I’d argue plenty of the weaker Junior clubs have actually raised their standards in recent years, likes of Rathkeale and Templeglantine in the West have all improved steadily in past decade, likes of Drom/Broadford going up Intermediate, Feohanagh getting back up to where they belong. Obviously you could pick out clubs who have disimproved too but that’s my point, for every example of standards dropping there are also examples of them rising

TG4 never really showed it. Looked like the Galway lad might have goaded him or shouted something at him after the goal went in. Was fairly surprised it went unnoticed/unpunished by the officials.

Fair enough - There was a Limerick player on the ground so I assumed maybe the Galway lads had caught him… Blatant yellow but say nothing to @flattythehurdler

Proper order so.

Flatty’s lads got away with two strikes across Nash’s head, he can’t have any complaints.

Bit of lip ?

One was thiefy enough the other was a total accident .

They were both loose swings, deserved yellows but not reds IMO.

G/B were junior for years, can still remember losing a west final to Croagh back in Newcastle as a child. Finished something like 0-06 to 0-05. Absolute war of attrition on a horrible, horrible day.

Then the relative golden generation came along. Dodge the standout obviously but another five or six played either intercounty minor, u-21 or intermediate. And another handful of excellent club standard players. For a small club that’s fair going. Will never have a crop like that again. Sadly the team has grown old and only heading in one direction now.

Mind you had a very good lad on the county u-17 team this year and another three or four promising lads on the team that beat Drom/Broadford to win the west minor B (15-a-side) last Friday night so hopefully they’ll come through a few years down the line. In the mean time it’s just all about avoiding the drop to junior.

A relation of mine coached that G/B team to beat Glenroe in that intermediate final all those years back.

There’s enough of us Westies down Junior. Stay the fuck out of it and keep Knockaderry up there with you while you’re at it. It’s hard enough.

Look at it again. Ball was deflected and deceived Eoghan Mac.

I was talking to a H/H man yesterday morning, he assured me they will go down as their form is gone and wont beat Kierans. And they wont beat any of the group2 sides.

Big win for Croom at the weekend. Although if Knockaderry beat Claughan and Croom don’t beat team GB they’d still end up bottom.
