This whole âlifting the treatyâ gave us what? 2 munster minor and a few croke park appearances. When the chips are down have we the mental stamina to win a tight match. At any grade. I dont think we have.

I was speaking to a fairly knowledgeable man from Tipperary whose father has a few all irelands, the mood in the Kilkenny camp is poor. Fennelly is out, Hogan and Aylward touch and go. If we are doing our usual downing tools you may be right. May as well scrap GAA in this county if this seems to be the mood.

The management were clueless. The Clare centre-back, a fine young hurler called Minogue, utterly dominated all through. Our solution was to consistently play the ball down on top of himâŚ
Our use of substitutes was woeful. Young OâShea from Garryspillane was on one leg before the end of normal time yet was left on the field until the final minute of ET. They took off a clearly out of depth player and re-introduced him so he could trip over a ball and let Clare move two ahead.
That Philip Kelly, by the way, is the latest in a line of utter cunts of Tipperary referees.
