Mark Keane was a great freetaker and goal poacher but a very average hurler. Not sure heād ever have made it as a great, even without the drink. Obviously didnāt help

Itās a very fine Limerick team, well ahead of the rest this year, plenty of the Limerick lads here should be embarrassed that they didnāt have the confidence these fine players deserved.

A good day out.
First time in my lifetime seeing us beat Kilkenny in championship hurling in the flesh at senior, u-21 or minor.
Comfortably the better team overall. Cody was sat about 9 rows behind me. Face like thunder but thatās his normal look anyway.
Gillane got 5 from play. Hard to argue with that really but was a bit surprised he got MOTM all the same.
Kyle Hayes, take a bow son. Jon Snow & Daenarys Targaryan, the mother dragons, missed a trick. Should have put Hayes on the wall and heād have repelled all of the white walkers. Immense. Size, pace and hurling intelligence. Has a nice cut to him too that all good players need.
Thought Robbie Hanley was brilliant also. Could have throttled him when he didnāt put over a handy point in the first half after looking for a goal chance that wasnāt on (and Kilkenny promptly went up the other end to get a point) but other than that he was top drawer. The lad covered every blade of grass twice over. We cleaned them out at midfield.
Colin Ryan, Ronan Lynch and Peter Casey all very decent too. Subs all contributed. I really rate Oisin OāReilly, he has ridiculous pace. Heās raw but thereās a player in there. Up the @balbec
We just outhurled them all over. Average enough KK team in fairness but job done.
