A bad weekend for Adare gets worse.

West Junior B football quarter final result.
Team G/B 3-11
Adare 0-13.

Important victory for ourselves in the Bog Garden against Feohanagh; 3-15 to 1-17.

No Seamie Flanagan for Feohanagh, Mike Fitzgibbon was their best player again, serious operator.

Massive wind there; they only scored 1 point from play in the first half, we were all over them. Second half, we actually scored 1-7 but they were rattling off scores from big distances- I think John F Reidy scored 2 monsters, and Butler was nailing all the frees.

But lads, Kyle Hayes… he was immense today. I would say it was the best game I’ve ever seen him play at adult level for the club. He just took the game by the scruff of the neck when it was in the melting pot. He was poor by his standards last week but was different level today. And then after again, last fella back in the dressing room, taking pictures with all the kids, signing hurleys, etc. Class player.

Darren O’Connell scored 2-4 from today aswell, the kid is unmarkable. Very rare someone scores that and they’re not the best player on the pitch (tbf to Darren, he possibly was anyway). 1-4 for Barry O’Connell aswell, and that was him not at full fitness and not at his best.

Maybe it would have been different had Flanagan played, the wind kinda fucked it as a spectacle but we played some lovely hurling at times. Even the second half when things were going against us was way above the levels of intensity that we displayed last week. Good to get back on track.

Any of the bottom 3 could be in the relegation final I think?

Hego scored 2-5 for Pats against Croom? That’s some going. Big win for them against Croom, I’d fancy them to beat H/H and make the quarters now. Good to see, I like Pats.

There’ll be fair timber in the Knockaderry v Drom Broadford game, the utter fear of the drop down to the bear pit that is the West Junior Championship should focus the minds something deadly!

Apparently Croom tried Lucey and Razor on him but it made no difference.

At that level having a Senior intercounty player with that fitness etc is almost like cheating.

Surely he’s still drunk?

Who, Lucey?!

He was back playing club football within a week of the final.

Ah stop

It sounds like most of the county lads were in serious form this week.

Some of them were quiet enough last week, maybe a bit of a ‘back to reality’ thing but any of them I saw looked very very sharp.

It would be a rarity for Gearoid to drink. We are going for three or four All Irelands in the next ten years with this batch.

Hegarty wouldn’t be a pint man. Very few of them are actually, Gillane looked like he enjoyed the celebrations the most  :pint: He was in good form for the well the weekend

He scored some goal yesterday to be fair. Himself and Dan Joy had a fierce battle, pulling and dragging out of each other before the ball was even thrown in!

Gillane is made of the right stuff, has a lovely bit of niggle to him. Or cut, you could say.
