Adare 3-10 Monaleen 3-5
Newcastlewest 1-20 Drom/Broadford 1-8
Oola 5-7 Galbally 0-12
Ballysteen 3-13 Ballylanders 0-7

Good win for Adare, one of the lads was saying Oran Collins was excellent for them & a very comprehensive victory for the townies over Drom, they’ll be hard beat this year.

Sounded like Galbally were doing alright but Oola have always had goals in them. Intercounty hurler, Mikey O’Brien, hit 2; Dubhan O’Grady who scored a goal in the U-21 county final got one, think Josh Ryan got one too.

And a serious win for Ballysteen, revenge for Willie’s jaw. Two goals for Shane Gallagher? And another red card for Brian O’Connell…

Galtee Gaels 3-20 Kildimo/Pallaskenry 2-11
Claughaun 2-14 Bruff 3-8
Mungret 1-10 Mountcollins 0-9

We were level with the Gaels with 15 to go but they absolutely blitzed us towards the end. The Childs brothers did a lot of damage, Tommie dominated the kickouts and Bob was on fire inside. Although Tony McCarthy’s flighted ball for our first goal was a thing of absolute beauty, we actually played some really nice football in the first half particularly but they showed us what a big step up it is.

Bruff got a bit closer to Claughaun than maybe I expected, and Mungret just got over Mountcollins. Apparently Stephen Behan of Mountcollins got a very serious leg injury and went to hospital.

Do you plan on hanging around?

Mikey O’Brien is a very good on an inside line in football. Ball winner and can score.

Our lot were poor against an average mountcollins side. The keeper is a minor and made three fine saves to keep the lead.
Game was held up for 20 minutes for a leg break.

Ballysteen were tantalizing today. Danny Neville ran riot. Must have hit at least 1-6 all from play. He’d the poor lad from Ballylanders ran ragged inside there.
Great to get a win on the board in the first round. Monaleen next up. Be a step up again.

Lads that’s such a tear jerker. Obviously it’s terrible that the man has died, but it feels like fate that he got to finally see it.

That was a bad statement by me

Traffic be hectic tomorrow with the 80,000 limerick fans heading to croker.

Roadworks finished early on the m7, bck to 60km, but ye’ll be in for the camogie

Half of them will be coming back from Edinburgh, be grand

Most of them are heading up to Belfast tonight so they’d be coming down from a different route to the traffic

Best avoid galway altogether this time with the camogie ultras and cute mayo hoors, kerry and waterford have the other roads bumpa to bumpa… Flight to liverpool and a ferry?
