Fuck scoring difference if we canāt beat Clare we donāt deserve to go up its as simple as that.
Fuck up, you coke head.
Whatās the story with seanie o Brien? Iād have him well ahead of Wayne mc and b o c.
This thread is comedy gold. Well played to all that contribute to it
Agree with most of @dodgy_keeperās report.
My first time seeing Limerick in 2016 but here are some thoughts:
- While he showed one or two classic Richie McCarthy moments, I thought Richie looked off the pace. Joe Bergen looked to have the beating of him for most of the day but couldnāt punish him. I fear Richie could get another roasting in the summer.
- I felt Tom Condon did pretty well and was smart with his distribution
- Cian Lynch was in and out of the game a bit but his distribution and awareness of other players is superb. One or two of his off loads happen so quick that you could easily miss them if not watching closely enough. He did do one blind overhead pass straight to an Offaly player near the end which was stupid.
- Hickey should have been subbed off as he was close to getting a red. Mind boggling that TJ didnāt haul him off as Offaly were on a comeback and being down to 14 men could have spelled disaster. Hard to know what to make of him. Looks like he is trying too hard at times. A make or break year for him.
- Barry OāConnell got better as the game went on I thought.
- Gavin was OK at 11.
- Reidy. Nothing went right for him. Hard to see him making an impact this year.
- Hannon. Excellent. I would leave him at 14 for the year.
- Strange that TJ isnāt giving Seanie OāBrien a run.
- Overall, a satisfying win but very scrappy. Offaly were woeful. They had one less wide then us but their wides seemed terrible/easy misses. A better team would have nailed us.
- I was speaking to the father of one of the backroom staff. Morale seems to be good, priority is promotion but so is peaking at the right time in the summer.
- Tullamore is a grand spot to attend a game. Last time I was there was Justinās last game in 2010. Similar to Ennis, the ground is extremely close to the town centre and boozers, etc.
- Some of the Offaly supporters are neanderthals
Over and out.
Is that not the way he always looks though? Always looks likely to be roasted but in fairness to him, bar the Tipp game last year, he rarely is.
He was brilliant against the dubs.
Yeah very true and I hope I am proven wrong (again) this year
Richie Mc made one dash out yesterday that was similar to the first goal Callanan scored against us last summer.
He charged out in front of his marker and just about got to the ball by sticking out the Hurley to block it. If he had missed Bergin was in about 30 yards of space and had a clear run in on goal.
Thought a couple of the young lads looked a bit leggy after all the games in recent weeks. Would expect a raft of changes for Saturday. Canāt understand how Seanie OāBrien canāt get a sniff this year when he was one of our best performers last season.
TJās post match comments were all about giving lads a chance as you need to āsee what they are aboutā by giving them game time.
So perhaps the assumption is that TJ believes in Seanie and knows he can produce in the championship? Still very weird not to give him any minutes
Seanie is hardly that experienced to be in that category.
Wayne Mac sounded like he steadied the HB line when he came in he is a great option to have come in for the last 20 of a close game.Agree that Hannons form means he cannot be moved from FF (some experts here wanted him dropped off the panel after that mickey mouse final againsr Clare!) Where to put Dowling now is the next question, we lack ball winners in the HF line so I would put him at 11 but do we persist with Gavin up there aswell?
Fowling repeatedly shows for nap he isnāt a half forward.
Another option id a 2 man inside line of Dowling and Hannonā¦
I donāt think thatāll work.
Dowling will be at 10 or 12 when he comes back in. Will most likely displace Reidy.
Half forward line is his best position alright.
The ballsy guys are flipping the script right now. Shore gone to the forwards in Wexford, Foyle gone to the backs in Laois, Canning out to midfield for Galway. Dowling must play 6. This is the answer. What a bulwark heāll be in the centre of defence.
He has played well at half forward in the past but he really is best at 14. He hasnāt gone as well as you would expect of a player of his caliber when playing on the wing for Na P this year. Hannon seems to be going great at 14 for Limerick and Mary I so we have could have a major conflict here. I always thought Hannon would end up at 11. OāMahony has hardly made 11 how own yet, would he be more effective on the wing? If Dowling doesnāt work out at wing forward and Hannon is still going well at full does Dowling just lose out or do they switch? Doesnāt seem like the best use of resources to have either Hannon or Dowling on the bench. Even if Hannon is going great at 14, surely Dowling still gets a chance there too?
