Hannigan and OāGorman from Feenagh are two decentt footballers. Hurling with Feenagh will remain no.1 there though. Egan from Feohanagh wouldnāt be in Feohanaghs top 4 or 5 footballers so canāt imagine heāll trouble the starting 15 in Dromā¦
Tom M will be starting Iād imagine.
Arenāt Feohanagh intermediate in football?
Yes they are. They went up in the Football before the hurling, played in both Junior Finals in the one year (2013). They would certainly be more of a hurling club though. The lad that transferred to Drom would not be in F/Cās top 4 or 5 footballers.
Yep they are!! Donāt think he was even on the Feohanagh team!
This seems like a non story about drom so.
Not sure if he was. He was always on and off their hurling team too, and more often than not played on their second team. Heās not a bad hurler but canāt see him making the Drom starting 15 on the hurling either.
On Drom/B, it wouldnāt surprise me to see them throw the focus behind the hurling now. All their young lads coming through bar Brosnan and Fahy would be all better hurlers and more interested in hurling. A lot of the coaches involved in the club would be more hurling men than football men. I can see them really driving forward in the hurling. They have a unique style that is difficult to play against due to the fact they integrate a lot of football tactics and work rate into their hurling team.
The acquisition of the Feenagh boys isnāt thoughā¦Brian Hannigan and Gerard OāGorman are two decent Footballers who will be an addition to their Senior Panel. Just depends on how Feenagh are going in the hurling.
A unique style? Or just a load of men back?
In fairness they donāt start out with sweepers and that from what I have seen. They are fairly fit and athletic and can retreat back and crowd out when under pressure. When they attack they still usually have their 6 forwards up the field like, they are very fluid and mobile. From what I saw, they are good at defending the opposition puck out by pulling their half forwards back in front of the opposition half forwards, turning the ball over and then working it up the field into scoring range. Very good work rate and fitness levels that stood out at Junior Level anyway, might just be enough to get them up to Prem Inter aswell before they meet teams where those attributes are a given.
The beep test -
Gearoid Hegarty is the fittest man on the Limerick panel. Young Fox from Ahane on the 21s and his club man Morrissey were not far behind Hegarty (it was a mixed sessions between 21s/seniors)
Our fullback line, amazingly, were some distance behind the rest.
Yeah Hegarty is apparently a machine. Speed of striking/speed on the turn and off the mark is going to be the challenge for him at Senior level
Did they make level 2?
Seanie o Brien wasnāt far behind hegarty.
And English too.
Anyway lads whatever about Richie lay off Tom condon. Heāll sort himself for championship.
Of course Hegarty is miles ahead in fitness, he has been training with footballers all his life not fat lazy hurlers.
You missed out on āpamperedā there mate
Some fellow called Hannon wonāt be playing.
