Im surprised Cathal King is kept on. For now I suppose. That would leave the current panel, excluding the trialists, looking like this;

Thats 36. I was told it was 37. Pat Begley wasn’t kept on surely? Did you hear if Kevin O’Brien was brought in, maybe he is no. 37?

I know MichĂŠal Ryan Simon from Doon is one of the trialists. I heard another Limerick Senior Footballer might be in there aswell on trial at the moment but thats unconfirmed

Kevin O’Brien is there all right, but I don’t think John Fitzgibbon is part of it. They’re wasting their time with Micheál Simon.

John Fitzgibbon is definitely in there, he is part of the panel. KOB is No. 37 so.

Fitzgibbon has a lot more to offer then King imo. Reckon Willie Griffin should be involved as well. Has bags of talent.

Dont know Colin Ryan’s current condition, but I was told all 15 starting players from the u21 team were in the panel at the moment.

I agree on Fitzgibbon.
King will do well to make the panel when it is cut.
I disagree on Griffin, he does have bags of talent but im afraid he just isnt good enough for Senior in my opinion. Excellent club hurler and very good for the Intermediates, but you’d have to ask yourself is he better than the potential corner forwards named above?

Plenty of good hurlers there alright.

Paudie O’Brien should only be looked at as a midfielder imo, Cian Lynch should be playing the role he played for the 21s already. Be interesting to see where Ronan Lynch is played, not sure he is a forward.

Colin Ryan did his cruciate ligament in the abandoned football battle v St. Patrick’s. He would have been part of it it alright and is most likely rehabbing it under the senior medical team.

Glad to see Fitzgibbon kept. I think he has something to offer and was badly treated last year after winning the game against Clare and then being put back on the shelf.

Brian Murray is surely worth a look in the goals. Still the best goalkeeper in the county. I’d imagine that a good share of the younger lads named on that squad will filter back to the Intermediates at some stage. It makes sense as they’ll get game time which would otherwise be limited with the seniors.

Peter Casey is doing the leaving and is not part of the senior set-up at the minute.
