This really really irks me. A team two points down with about a minute to go and they tap it over. It almost never works
There wasn’t a minute left - the injury time was up! Ref blew for full time from the puck out. Aaaaaaaaagh.
Cork just about deserved it. They fired over the first three points and always had their noses in front. Could never get level. They had marginally more about them up front. Morrissey was well shackled in the second half and we had little enough elsewhere in the forward line for scores.
At the same time we hit a few terrible wides late on when we could easily have snatched a draw with some composure. Over the hour we missed four or five frees and 65’s while the Cork free taker nailed everything.
Byrnes was impressive enough, scored a couple of sensational points from play in the second half. Andrew Brennan has some paw on him, made a few brilliant catches.
Ronan Lynch came on before half time and looked like a lad who hadn’t held a Hurley in six months. I actually don’t think he touched the ball in the time he was on the pitch. Just not at the races. Miles off the pace.
A bit of a sickener, didn’t play well and still only lost by a puck of a ball. Would nearly be easier if you were beaten out the gate. Overall not a great game.
i’ll take a PM if you don’t mind, PM. Thanks.
Don’t know how to do it on this piece of shit site

Anyone play well for Cork Dodgy Keeper? How did number 2 go?
Its far from a vintage Cork team, missing loads from the inter/junior grades. Almost our third team at that grade in many ways.
Glowing reports about Byrnes again. Look forward to seeing how he goes in the 21s, looking a guy that could well step up to the senior team next year.
saw worse man up BOYS
Afraid its true lad. Loads of players missing.
were you at the game last night bud
Nope I’m im Dublin kid
are tickets hard to get for saturday
It’s been a long time since I felt as sick at the end of a match as I did following the mugging we (Limerick) got from Cork yesterday. Following Limerick GAA, the footballers in particular, you tend to get used to low points but that doesn’t make what happened yesterday any easier to take. For 69 minutes they fought like dogs and had last years All Ireland Finalists on the ropes. Even when down to 14 men they still didn’t let Cork into the game and to lose it all in the space of 35 seconds is just brutal.
I wasn’t giving this team much chance going into the game earlier in the week, but when I got home on Saturday I read an interview with Limerick half-back Pa Ranahan, he seemed extremely confident and he asked a very simple question of the interviewer “Do you think I would be training since last December if I didn’t think we were capable of going out and beating Cork on Sunday?”. And how close they came. As a game of football it was nothing special, lots of mis-directed passes, nothing balls and missed scores, but it was tough, hard honest football. If I felt sick yesterday I can’t imagine how Limerick goal keeper Sean Kiely felt, as it was his mistakes which led to both goals. But if Limerick can produce a performance like that in the qualifiers we might get another few days out of them yet.
Sorry about the rant, but I’m still drunk, full of red bull and feeling a bit bitter that I didn’t get a jambon on the way into work and now I’m fucking starving.
Michael Carton has left the Dublin hurling panel ahead of their All-Ireland qualifier against Limerick this Saturday at Semple Stadium.
