Riordan is a better footballer than a hurler and Lucey is absolutely vital to both teams. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see how things pan out but it could get very messy yet.

I think there was an agreement made that if this scenario came up the regular championship gets preference over ‘qualifiers’.

So potentially it is

an All Ireland Hurling Quarter Final
v
a Football Qualifier Round 4

You would have to say that the hurling wins here.

Pretty much the ideal draw, although I wouldn’t be too keen on meeting Meath, they will be seriously motivated after last year.

Meath weren’t up to much against Dublin. Can’t imagine them improving that much and if we play as we did against Cork we’ll be just fine.
