Iâd have no problem at all with Niall Moran coming back. He has bags of experience and will be a serious option from a bench thatâs lacking in forward subs. With all respect to Tommy Quaid, Tommy OâBrien and Micheal Ryan, theyâre not exactly going to inspire fear in an opposition if introduced.
The bench needed strengthening as most of last yearâs impact players are now starting. Moran, on his day, can be lethal and will take a lot of minding by whoever is marking him. Tom Ryan has been going very well in recent times. probably wonât start as I suspect the same team will be named as played v Tipp. Allis had been struggling with illness for a bit and Reidy is a long way off recovering from a broken collar bone. That leaves Breen as a viable forward sub. We should see him at some stage on Sunday week and donât be surprised if he makes a vital impact.
imo bringing Niall Moran on with a point to prove could backfire. He is very liable to go for glory and not play a team role.
Of course it looks great when it comes off but heâs capable of firing bad wides from 60 yards in search of glory. I also rate the lads mentioned above as very good players.
That Woodlands U16 Football Tournament is on tomorrow as well.
Theyâll be lucky to have 500 in the gaelic grounds
And the 14 & 15 tournaments. I am going to dungarvan for the 14s (family)
Limerick 16s into the final v Tipp. Captain from our club, would be a fine win if we can get it.
Footballers beat Antrim 3-11 to 0-15
Good second half.
How did underage tournaments go?

Were you at the football? Who played well?
Just back from the Gaelic Grounds.
Very good win.
2 points down at the break, Antrim looked slicker. Second half was the John Galvin show, he rolled back the years.
He won the first penalty which Ger Collins slotted home. The midfield colossus then kicked two magical points before a trip on the marauding Seanie Buckley led to a second penalty. Again Collins sent the 'keeper the wrong way and Limerick led by 5. Antrim cut the gap to two as the game entered injury time. With the last attack of the game Darragh Treacy finished a flowing move to the net.
Paudie Browne was magnificent throughout. Attendance of 727, the majority of whom went home happy. Out again next Saturday I think.
Are Limerick one win away from an AI QF!??
Yep, would need to win next week and then beat one of the provincial runners up.
Open to correction but I think we will face one from Tipp, Sligo or Wexford/Laois.
Would prefer to avoid Tipp, been lucky enough to get two home draws in a row but weâll need a third to have any chance of progressing.

Thatâs a 20% increase in attendance on last week. Limerick football juggernaut is gathering gear.
Were you in the open stand Dodgy? Great banter over there.
I thought Mark Riordan was immense in the second half. Constantly up and down the field.
We were dire in the first half.

I was actually late (traffic through Adare  ). It was 0-02 to 0-00 when I got in so I stayed over in the Mackey Stand.
Were you the lad in the open stand who kept roaring âbring on Hanrahan!â from about the fifth minute of the second half onwards. Could hear him as clear as day over in the covered stand. :D. His shouting got louder and more impassioned as the half progressed.

No we were just behind him. He got a great roar when Hanrahan came on, then when he missed the free one of the lads roared âTake him offâ
Saw the Antrim manager giving an interview after the match today and he was absolutely seething with the referee. I thought he was very harsh on us in the first half and certainly did think we got anything overly soft in the second half. The two penalties looked absolute certs to me?
Paddy Bradleyâs auld fella is still the Antrim manager isnât he? Heâs half cracked.
Yip. Proper seething he was, bits of spit stuck to the side of his mouth and hands going everywhere.
