Limerick GAA - We get knocked down 🐐

Is grimes the sub from Na P anything to the Liberties clan?

:rolleyes:

Uber fan alert.

The Kilmallock Effin game was poor enough I heard.

No. But we do keep saying he is related to jedward.

There are 2 or 3 every game. They lost a couple from the panel since Munster and one of the bench has joined in the past couple of weeks.

What’s the reason for that or is there any? I see they have a policy of having roughly half the panel eligible for the following year.

Not as far as I know.

They’ve operated this “open panel” policy since they took over last year. It’s bee controversial to say the least. Officially, everything is based around form at training and in club games, but this seems to mean that the subs are shuffled around at random, mostly without ever seeing match action.

It has backfired badly a couple of times. Bringing in Seamus Flanagan a week before the Galway game last year and throwing him into Croke Park was a major error. Of course, the big one was the manager’s son being brought on when Limerick were cruising in the closing stages of the drawn Munster final and losing a 7-point lead as a result. A lot of people were very sour over that one.

I suppose it’s hard on players and parents who’ve transported them since last winter if you’re dropped for some lad who has just joined the panel. Most of these newer additions seem to be players who are underage for the next year or two. I’d firmly agree that, at minor level, you should always be looking forward and it only makes sense to give experience to those who will backbone your squad in subsequent years. The manner in how this management go about it, however, is strange to say the least.

I think Limerick will have enough to win tomorrow but, if we’re beaten, I wouldn’t like to see some of the potential bloodletting that could occur over the management’s selection policy.

Hope he lives to regret mugging of Galway by completely discounting them :oops::slight_smile:

Hickey is on the panel on radio 1 afternoon sports. Has spoken very well and had a nice pop at the county board for the “apology” story

At the rate he is going, hickey will have a spot on the Sunday Game panel sown up in no time.

Teege is the main man

Contract for 3 years. Worth more money in the media than he was before now. Hickey can forget the Sunday Game. Teege has a pre-contract agreement there. Hickey can have the zero pay stints on Newstalk

Pajo = 0
Dave Keane = 0
Mossy O Brien = 0
Brian Ryan = 0
John Allen = 0
Justin = 0

Ye all failed. Teege delivered

Late decision, we are off to Croker tomorrow for the minors. Section 309 in case anyone else from limerick is there

Hope it goes well, mate… Was tempted midweek to pick up a ticket but with a wedding yesterday, work today and a birthday party tonight I’m sleeping in tomorrow and have the world of food got in for a day of gaa action. Hope our lads go well, I don’t think they did themselves justice either last year.

Just back from Kilmallock.

Dramatic end to tonight’s Premier Intermediate hurling championship encounter.

Trailing by two points as the game entered injury time Garryspillane desperately went in search of a match winning goal. After a scramble the ball fell to one of the Bouncers players (may have been Kieran Hickey) and, with what seemed like half the Knockaderry defence hanging off him, he booted the ball past the despairing 'keeper from a fair distance out for the winning score. There was still a minute or two to be played but the men from the west couldn’t muster an equalising point. A gut wrenching defeat for them, they led for most of the game after bagging a goal for the first score of the game. A draw would have been a fair result.

Tight game all the way through, level at the break. Don Hanley was outstanding, knocked over four or five points from play. Jim Bob was stationed at full forward, was a constant threat but when he was moved back out to midfield for the last 20 minutes he lorded it.

Garryspillane 1-11 Knockaderry 1-10.

Heard that in the other game in the group tonight Bruree beat Hospital/Herbertstown by 3-11 to 1-15.

See you in Croke Park tomorrow @ciarancareyshurlingarmy - I’ll be up in the Hill.

When the Politically Motivated Understudy achieves as much as Daly, then you can craw all you want.

Presume Paddy at full back is brother of Mark and Philip. Looks like 3 brothers across the full back line for Kilmallock for the next few years. Which is the best of them? Remember being impressed by Mark for the club two years ago.
Teege is the main man

Contract for 3 years. Worth more money on Thugby FM than he was before now. Hickey can look forward to the Sunday Game. Teege hasn’t a fucking hope there either there. Hickey can have the quality jobs when PUM reverts to bad mouthing the players out in the field.

Pajo = 0
Dave Keane = 0
Mossy O Brien = 0
Brian Ryan = 0
John Allen = Munster Title.
Justin = 0

Ye all failed. But so has Teege
There Bill, fixed that for ya buddy.

Typical Kip Killagain. No respect for anyone. What a cunt.

The 8 team group for the Premier Intermediate seems very competitive. Is there a case for every county championship in Limerick to be run in this format. Of the 12 senior teams there are still a few teams just making up the numbers.
