Mungret and Monaleen had good wins last night. They have the potential to be super clubs like Na Piarsaigh!
Under 381/2 @8/11 a cracking bet in football final. Also Bally -4 @ 3/1. I really hope Pat’s win but cant see it happening!!
Ballylanders beat St.Patrick’s by 2-8 to 1-7 in the senior football final.
Robbed for the handicap bet Pats were utter shit today.
Sickened by dat!! Made worse by that small little fucker lifting the cup and motm!! Bally won it in Rathkeale a couple of weeks ago!!
I’m no fan of his either.
Not many are to be fair!!!
People probably say the same about me
How can you say that Pats were utter shit today? They hit the post twice in the first 10 minutes. They owned the ball for 15 mins of the second half but just could not convert it into scores. Pa Mullins, Shane Halpin, Mark Phelan and Gearoid Hegarty ran through Bally countless times during the match. The Saints are very close to winning a county. If Dermot Fitz, Sniffer Phelan and John Mullane were fully fit, this match would have had a different outcome.
If my auntie had balls…
Glas would fancy her…
I see Na parsigh are in the junior a final in the hurling as well some going. Has a limerick team every had an intermediate second team? Did the well at one stage?
The Well won Junior A around 1999 I think. From what I remember they only used 16\17 players throughout the whole season.
Caseys won junior football as well, perhaps 8 to 10 years ago
Its bad luck for Feoghanagh to be pitted against Na Piarsaigh. They have the luxury of having lots of players that have played underage at a high level. I would expect NAP to win it but the two best teams are in the final. They will also be contenders in the Intermediate championship if they got up, serious amount of talent coming through from underage.
What a load of shit, they pissed their pants yet again more like the scoreline flattered them at the end FFS
They were very strong around that time and there was serious talk that they might win the intermediate as well.
Of course any club can have only one senior team.
Two of their three county minors (Casey and Grimes) are unable to force their way onto the senior team, which is unusual for a county minor. Lynch of course has, but had to be accommodated in the backs due to injuries. Senior forwards just too strong.
There will be no need of an All County Junior A championship in a couple of years. NCW, Killeedy, Feenagh and St Kierans will all be down Junior. The West Championship will be the county championship! West hurling is in free fall
It’s very difficult for these clubs with low numbers. The first signs for any club that they are in serious trouble is when their u16’s and minors are playing
in the 13 a side competitions.
The standard of refereeing was also very poor in the west although a couple of decent young referees have emerged in recent years, not sure if this contributed to the low standard but it certainly does not do anyone any good.
