A coaches coach I believe, but will also be directly involved with some teams. A few big football teams getting involved which is great to see!!

Clare lost a low scoring game to Tipp - 1-4 to 0-6 or something similar. Limerick beat Waterford, don’t know the score

There was an article in the examiner yesterday about a football match up north in the senior championship which finished something like 1-4 to 1-2, with neither team scoring a point from play.
It somewhat tenuously blamed jim mcguinness for this, but can’t have been easy on the eye.

There’s plenty of fine up and coming young footballers in the county but the structures just aren’t there at the moment to allow them to compete with the other Munster counties.

Any idea if there’s any underage development plan in place in Clare?
Tipp obviously got their structures sorted years ago.

It appears they’re finally making an attempt at some sort of structural development.

In fairness to John Cregan, he’s the first football chairman in years that has actually made an effort to improve things. He put together a committee, chaired by Muiris Gavin and they came up with Kinnerk ( a great addition) as director of underage coaching. They’ve laid out a programme in two centalised venues (LIT & Rathkeale) and will finally make a start on taking us out of the dark ages of football development at underage intercounty level.

Doubtless, this will take some time and the early years could continue to be painful but, at least, there’s an effort being made after years of lip-service.

Sounds promising so that structures are being put in place, we should be competitive in both codes

Speaking to someone on that U17 match apparently they have a massive panel called in and they are using it to pick next years minor squad and not to put much stock in the result the other night.
