Limerick GAA - We get knocked down 🐐

Harty Cup quarter final result.

Ard Scoil Ris 1-16 Bandon 1-11.

Castletroy play Youghal on Wednesday in another quarter final.

Who is the mick mackey that got all the points for ard scoil?

Presumably a student at the school.

A reincarnation. John Power is togging out next week.

Any word of a mid-week challenge game this week for the Boys in Green?

Castletroy College score an unanswered 1-2 in stoppage time to beat Youghal 1-14 to 0-16 in the Harty Cup quarter-final.

Great comeback by Castletroy!

Aboy the kid.

THERE were dramatic scenes in Cahir this Wednesday afternoon as Castletroy College booked a first ever semi-final spot in the Harty Cup with a thrilling 1-14 to 0-16 win over Youghal.[/B]

The Limerick city secondary school scored 1-2 in injury time at the end of this quarter-final tie to turn the game on its head.

The last gasp win books a January 31 semi-final against Thurles CBS. Throughout the encounter, Castletroy had played second fiddle to Youghal’s Pobalscoil Na Trionoide.

Indeed as the end of the 60-minutes approached Youghal were 0-16 to 0-11 ahead. Then came the unlikely late charge from Castletroy.

The goal scoring hero was Barry Nash in the 60th minute.

Substitute Mark O’Dwyer held his nerve to point a free to level and it was Andrew La Touche Cosgrave who snatched the late later winner, which came in the fourth minute of justified injury time.

This was Castletroy’s third quarter-final in the Harty Cup and at half time they trailed 0-7 to 0-5, albeit the Cork side had played with the wind.

Declan Dalton was the difference between the sides in that half with all bar one of his side’s scores - two from superb lineballs. Aaron Kennedy had the only Castletroy score from play in the half’s 25th minute.

His point could easily have found the net as he pulled first time when a long range Lorcan Lyons free dropped into the goalmouth.

It was an opening half in which Castletroy hit six wides and Youghal seven.

The early minutes of the second half were exchanges of frees between Nash and Dalton.

Ian Coates then had Castletroy briefly ahead until Youghal hit four on the trot.

Two from Lorcan Lyons and another from Coates gave Castletroy a glimmer of hope but still they trailed 0-16 to 0-11 and the stopwatch was showing 27-minutes played.

They needed a goal and Coates was denied a chance by full back Bobby McCarthy.

An O’Dwyer free reduced the lead.

Then came the goal. Conor Nicholas delivered into the goalmouth but Barry Nash was marked by two. He found space and crashed to the net.

But it was three minutes later when another O’Dwyer free looked to have secured extra time.

But in his fourth year of Harty Cup, La Touche Cosgrave hit his most crucial ball when securing the last gasp victory.

SCORERS: Castletroy: Barry Nash 1-4 (0-4frees), Andrew La Touche Cosgrave 0-3 (2frees), Ian Coates, Lorcan Lyons and Mark O’Dwyer (2frees) 0-2 each, Aaron Kennedy 0-1. Youghal: Declan Dalton 0-12 (10free, 2lineballs), Aindriu O’Seoige 0-2, Darragh O’Connell 0-1.

Finn Hourigan of Murroe-Boher must be some man. Played corner-back and full-forward!

@jerome O’Connell.

Thought so. The one line paragraphs are the giveaway.

Harry Olliphant is a great name

The Limerick juggernaut :clap::clap:

What a fairweather cunt you are. You’re as bad as Robbie Heffernan.

That’s some mugging off, grabbing a winner four minutes into injury time after being dead and buried.

Semi finals on Saturday week.

Thurles CBS v Castletroy.
ASR v Rochestown.

Shane Dowling is fair gapped

Smashing dig thrown there in the background.
