To be fair, most of the best ones are still in school and in my opinion, the undoubted star of the team was Cian Lynch, who some people are criticising already. Cian Lynch may be good enough for a start in the summer, but he needs plenty of gametime before then, heās the type who will revel in the big games in the summer.
Richie English and Darragh OāDonovan are two players who perhaps should have made the panel already but it is arguable. Thereāll be plenty of time for the likes of ATLC, Ronan Lynch, Colin Ryan, Barry Nash, even the likes of Dave Dempsey, Sean Finn, Dean Colemanā¦ if theyāre good enough, Iām sure theyāll get their chance eventually, no need to rush them all in.
Dunno if that was really the consensus, but, two. Cian Lynch and Morrissey. Lynch may start in summer if weāre clever enough to find a role to suit him. A few more are in school still and will come in next year or maybe even this summer.
I might add that yeāre need to bring them through faster was probably greater, in conjunction with some of them being ready earlier. I donāt mean that in an arrogant way, but we have a relatively settled team with plenty youngish players involved and not many past late 20s.
Ronan Lynch would have been in the squad but is doing his leavingā¦ Most of that 2013 team were underage again last year so are a bit behind physically.
People underestimate the development that goes on between 17 and 21. For a lad like Richie English just to be in the squad, training, heād improve no end because of it. Marking better players like Hannon in training matches, realizing the commitment needed as opposed to training with Doon where he would be not be challenged to improve, can cruise throw training etc. The seniors are basically pros.
Tom O Brien was on the panel in 2010 and Seanie O Brien was a sub v Tipp 2012. FFS are people blind. We found about 5 players near the standard since 2012 and none are guaranteed starters.
