Just back from Kilmallock where Blackrock beat Dromin/Athlacca by 3-13 to 1-17 in the Premier Intermediate.
Athlacca threw it away. Were the better team for most of the game but missed a host of chances. They played against a strong wind and led 0-10 to 0-7 at the half. Richie Murphy got a goal to bring Kilfinane back into it but Athlacca pushed it back out to 5 with a goal from David Breen. Paudie Leahy was doing well and his ground shot deflected wickedly off Tom Breen for a bizarre own goal with about 10 mins left. Athlacca rallied but a late third goal killed it after chance after chance was blown.
Jason OâMahony appeared to forget the new advantage rule in the first half as he blew back Jamesie Kelleher when clean through on goal for an earlier foul on David Reidy, who supplied the pass.
Not a bad game on a difficult day for hurling due to a big swirling wind.

Mike, at centre-back, was very good in fairness. Blackrock started Richie McCarthy on him and moved him to midfield after Reidy clearly had the better of him.
David was average and didnât stand out. Got a couple of points but wasted an awful lot of ball.

@balbec gets a reply because he lives in Poland.
You, on the other hand, could have gone to the game instead of hanging around the bottom of the Yellow Road looking for a fight.
God be with the days when there was plenty of lads around that part of town whoâd readily oblige you.

Thats absolute rubbish. Id take far more notice of how he hurls for his club in Championship than those fuckin trials. Trials are always a farce, cant judge lads on a shitty wet day in fuckin January when lads have no hurling played ffs. That system always misses a few good lads. Weâll see how he goes again for the Rockies this year in Cship when he gets into a bit of fitness.
