To ease the pressure on Kiely and while away the tense run-up let’s have the starting 15 as chosen by the forum:

  1. @Breaking_my_balls. This position calls for a safe guard between the sticks, an able custodian and someone who can find his man when needed most. A mouthy sort who will issue instructions and keep his defenders on their toes.

Given that regular custodian @Rintintin has all but retired the selection appears justified.

A limerick team needs a diminutive corner forward, even when one doesn’t exist they’ll invent one so I’m giving the 15 jersey to @TreatyStones

Most teams have a useless shaper, usually a forward who looks good but delivers little. More concerned with how his hair looks when he removes his helmet after being substituted.

@glasagusban at right half forward cos that’s where David Breen played.

@balbec at full forward as he’s too thick and ignorant to play anywhere else.

@dodgy_keeper as the modern-day half-forward; travels up & down the pitch; turns up with a performance from 1 January until All-Ireland Final day.

I’d have @Aristotle midfield. Industrious. @Elvis_Brandenberg_Kr then as the calm head at centre-back, the only one that seems to really know what’s going on.

@anon32894817 has to be full-forward, he can lead the entire defence on a merry dance.

@iron_mike the experienced centre-forward, holds the forwards together. Has that sheer desire to win; the one whose emotional state at full-time is what the RTE cameras zone in on.

@TreatyStones corner-forward, always there to take advantage of any tap-ins :smiley:

I’d have @Julio_Geordio in the other corner, but there’s no way you could have 2 Ballysteen fellas in the one line.

@balbec full-forward; always good to have a Kilmallock man in the full-forward line.

@Bartholemew_the_Ladd full-back; takes no prisoners.
