Did you live in Kilkenny for a good while
Limerick will out mullock and batter Clare in winter conditions as you well know.
Under Kinnerk, Limerick play through the lines. And traditionally we play well in sweltering heat. Yerra.
Limerick spare arm grapple their way to victory over most teams. This all Ireland series will be won by the biggest mullockers, hence Limerick or KK
Do you ever give it a break. NO team fouls more than Clare. Only two teams can go toe to toe with Limerick in an open game, Cork and Tipperary. In saying this Clare will give Limerick plenty, you cannot lose English and Casey and have it easy.
Clare have a lost a few good players too
Right lads two of ye need to throw on suits, weāll pretend itās a civil ceremony and we can watch the match in a pub somewhere
Limerick play the ugliest brand of hurling, a mix of mediocre skill and thuggery.
If we had a fella the size of Johnny Glynn to play on the edge of the square and horse it into as plans a,b, and c we would but sure we can only make do with what we have
From what I heard last night the vibes are not great - a number of lads who showed well in the league and who we need to step up have been fairly off the pace in challenge matches and the team is likely to be changed up as a result. Talks that Morey is in the mix to play at centre back too which does not fill me with a huge amount of confidence.
All things being equal very hard to see us being good enough to get a win here given the absentees and first year management team and new players struggling to find their feet.
I smell an ambush.
And, if fit, our fullback about half his size would still gobble him.
This is their cup final, whereas for Limerick itās only a league final
If I felt we were primed for an ambush I would be looking for a wager.
Iām a broad church mate. Simple rural types such as yourself struggle with the concept.
There is that Wouldnāt be pushing for one either.
Thats an ooft from Littlewoods
Talk now seems to be
Quilligan
Browne-Cleary-McCarthy
OāConnor-Morey-OāHalloran
Kelly-McInerney
Malone-Fitzgerald-Reidy
Ryan Taylor-OāDonnell-Cunningham
While there would be plenty of hurling in that half backline it is very much on the light side of things. Given the size and physicality of Limerick in the middle third I would find it hard to see us not getting worn down fairly early there.
Taylor and Malone are very honest in their application and can be relied upon make tackles and slow down deliveries from the Limerick backs but offer no really scoring threat whatsoever at this level. Now I expect that this game will be played at a tempo closer to league hurling in March than a championship game in June but you would feel that we wouldnāt have enough firepower for a shootout or enough physicality for an arm wrestle down the stretch in either scenario.
The under 20s on the panel were unable to train this week after Shane Meehan was pulled from the under 20s game as a close contact so Rodgers and Donnellan wonāt be part of the match day 26.
