Limerick v Clare AI Semi-Final

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
- That went pretty much as I expected;

 • Clare’s touch, composure, movement, skill and speed was a level above Limerick;
 • Again, the 7 backs tactic worked a treat and Pat Donnellan mopped up an awful lot of ball;
 • Tony Kelly gave an absolute exhibition in midfield and trampled all over Limerick in the middle third;
 • Colin Ryan’s touch and striking was sublime - between him and Kelly for MoTM in my view;
 • Collins was also quite influential in his centre forward role;
 • I was impressed with Clare’s response when Limerick closed the gap in the second half;
 • They didn’t buckle or panic and invariably work a neat score or two in response;
 • They sprayed the ball around really well for the most part, choosing the correct option and releasing the ball at the right time;
 • Great workrate from their 5 forwards too, even though they were outnumbered;
 • Clare are fucking great.
:clap:

They’ve upped it quite a bit in recent weeks, Kodaline even before Donegal and Mayo, High Hopes indeed.

Was listening to that in the car, up there with Daly’s banter with John last week, John is an alright sort.

No arguments at all with that result really, and there was a real inevitability about it even after 10-15 minutes. The reality is that Clare simply have a superior class of hurler to Limerick. Tony Kelly is an absolute joy to watch and has the potential to be one of the greatest hurlers ever to play the game. He’s in pole position now for Hurler of the Year.

Clare’s pace, movement and passing was fantastic, every player on the same wavelength and knowing where the pass was going. They have the undoubted potential to be the dominant hurling force for the next seven or eight years. The key word in this year’s hurling and football championships has been pace and it was demonstrated again today, but Clare’s skill levels are fantastic as well. This is a totally different style of team to the 90s one who were mostly mullockers made good.

It has to be said that Limerick did shit the pot a bit. It’s back to the drawing board for them now in a big way. They’ll need to wait for more of their younger players to come through to bolster their ranks because it’s hard to see them win an All-Ireland with this group. Even some of the younger players like Dowling look slow and ponderous. Only Gavin O’Mahony had the type of class that Clare displayed. That nightmare Dowling had with the sideline cut did show up how nervous Limerick were though, Clare were nerveless and utterly fearless.

*He gets two for his freetaking
** he gets three for for being a Rolls fucking Royce of a hurler

What a nightmare.

We just didn’t turn up at all. Well done to Clare, hurled well and picked off some super scores. Tony Kelly was magnificent and Clare will have a serious chance in the final.

Credit to Limerick they kept battling and brought a huge crowd with them. I am sure if you told themback in January that they would be the third best team in Munster come August they would have been delighted with the year as a whole

I’m bitterly disappointed.

A Munster championship winning campaign is still a successful year for you. Roll on Division 1B next February.

Ah lovely stuff.

Congrats Clare, Well done. Yet again our supreme ability to hit the ball wide was critical. Twenty odd wides will ruin anyones chances. Clare were simply magnificent, Colin Ryan take a bow son. He was never fazed in the slightest and was flawless from the placed ball. Here’s hoping ye go all the way.
Tony Kelly was class… Fantastic hurler. We had nothing to match him. Unfortunately we have lots of lads with very swelled heads and little to back it up.

Did Conlon take another bang to the head in the first half today when he hit the ground?

Ni, it seemed to be shoulder/collarbone related

He was on fire prior to it, was worried it was yet another head related substitution.

Conlon is rapidly becoming a supermarket-value Ryan O’Dwyer.

Come on the fucking banner!

Woo hoo hoo!

Well done Clare.

I thought Galway allowed Clare to dictate the quarter final game and that a better prepared team would trouble them… turns out Davey has assembled a serious outfit

Congratulations to Clare. We were well beaten today, no complaints. Watching it today was very reminiscent of the 95 Munster Final. I also had a shit sideline view ticket that day but it was interesting to see the same energy surge in Clare today just like in 1995. Hopefully Clare will go on and win it now. As for us, well we get knocked down and we get up again…

they’re still in Naas i believe

And ye won the buildup as well, ye cunts :slight_smile:
