Limerick v Clare AI Semi-Final

Was straight in front of it. He just turned and the knee went. The poor fucker was in agony.
- That went pretty much as I expected;

 • Clare’s touch, composure, movement, skill and speed was a level above Limerick;
 • Again, the 7 backs tactic worked a treat and Pat Donnellan mopped up an awful lot of ball;
 • Tony Kelly gave an absolute exhibition in midfield and trampled all over Limerick in the middle third;
 • Colin Ryan’s touch and striking was sublime - between him and Kelly for MoTM in my view;
 • Collins was also quite influential in his centre forward role;
 • I was impressed with Clare’s response when Limerick closed the gap in the second half;
 • They didn’t buckle or panic and invariably work a neat score or two in response;
 • They sprayed the ball around really well for the most part, choosing the correct option and releasing the ball at the right time;
 • Great workrate from their 5 forwards too, even though they were outnumbered;
 • Clare are fucking great.
That’s the game summed up there. We were awful, they were great. Fair play to Clare, let’s hope they’ve learned lessons from the Munster semi final and make the final a thriller.

This has been as disapointing as their semi against tipp in 09
Used to it at this stage.

Hold my hand up high, I did not see that coming. There was always a chance Clare would win but I didn’t expect a no show from limerick or that we could completely allow Clare to dictate the pattern of the entire game tactically like I felt Galway did. Nothing went right for us, hickey was a big loss and if a few of the missed frees had kept us in touch maybe we might have settled.

Clare today though, fucking hell :clap:

I hope they go to win it now.

Fuck. Cruciate so? We couldn’t afford to lose him.

Great sportsmanship here so far from the Limerick punters :clap:

Probably yeah. There was no one near him.

Fuck getting used to it,pal.

Today & tonight will fade in time, but 2013 will have to be remembered fondly for beating us & Cork to win a Munster title in the GG’s. Ye restored faith in the game for youngsters throughout the County who have had Munster Rugby Inc shoved down their throats for years.

The Minor team went down fighting too & while they probably should have won in normal time the fact that they won Munster in itself is also a huge boost for Limerick Hurling.

Fuck the Unlimited Heartbreak, use today as a session & learn from it.

I don’t know Carry. The Minors were never at the races. Think I have never seen a worse full forward line. And when they went down, it looked ominous for the seniors. Desperation generates the hype. Don’t give two fucks about rugby, it is not real. Today was real. And it hurts.

Lookit we just move on. We have a good panel. You have to lose to win sometimes.

Idiot.

Yeah sound bro.

Clare will be still drunk next year after they win the final. Kilkenny are finished and have a tactical dinosaur in charge. Tipp have a lame duck manager and a bunch of pissheads and Galway will still be at each other’s throats. Cork will still be there but the mushrooms will have gone stale.

The way will then be clear for “The People’s Final™” - Dublin v Limerick.

Was Pat Donnellan booked for that challenge on Graeme Mulcahy after 65 minutes?

Certainly as cynical as anything we’ve seen from Tyrone this year.

I pointed that out during the game. Shocking.

Close to, not as bad, but no better.

Didn’t matter at that stage.

That doesn’t matter.

I know, but…

When the fall is all thats left, it matters very much.
