. I thought Davy was Over hyped, but clearly he was on the ball.[/quote]

Davy has deflected every bit of attention away from his young side with his antics. Looks like a master stroke now considering what’s happened Lk

Lads forgetting how strong the wind was and how huge a factor it had in the first Clare-Cork game.

did it change direction at half time or something?

Did Clare not have the wind in the second half of that match?

aye them clare boys have some mickeys on em ask your ma

No they wasted it in the first half trying to run everything at goal rather than pick their scores and build a decent lead, instead all they had was 4pts and Cork reeled them in easily!

Fairly gutted.

No complaints, the better team won.

Best of luck to Clare in the final.

What date is next round of club championship set for, DK?

I don’t have a clue and to be honest right now I don’t fucking care. Yesterday will take a few weeks to get over, a bad one to lose with it being wide open this year. We’ll rise again though.

I hear ya, pal. I’m sure its eating the players up today and I just hope it makes the younger lads stronger for it.

FFS:rolleyes:

Like I said on the limerick thread, we have the makings of a decent team. Remains to be seen how the team and young lads especially will react to this. Sulk, forget about it, or work like fuck to get back and prove themselves as good as anyone else and more than team that got lucky and won two games.

I think Clare in Croke Park are just a very bad style match-up for Limerick. In a game fought at close quarters, as a game with Kilkenny or Dublin would be for example, I think Limerick are very well equipped. But a speedy team on a big pitch are much harder to counter-act.

One thing that seems to be in Clare’s favour at the moment is that a lot of teams have been built with beating Kilkenny in mind. Understandably so given the nature of the last half decade. We’re a totally different team and hopefully it’ll make it a bit tougher for teams to get to grips with us in the short term future at least.

Agree. Limericks whole focus this year was beating tipp and the team was set up to do that, would have worked well v kk too. The same team worked well against Cork and ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ applied for Clare… but clearly we should have been better prepared than that.

I think @Kinvaras Passion made the same point on the Galway thread.

Thats an excellent point. I raised something similar on another forum earlier…

In our case Cunningham set Galway out to bring down KK and almost did but the show has moved on and even though the current Clare style would be closer to our natural game its difficult to get the current crop to readapt now.

All the more reason that Davey and Co deserve all the plaudits for developing a system that suited his panel and sticking to it. Stubbornness can be a valuable asset at times.

McCarthy was the man alone on edge of square with Collins. Condon was picking Honan up when that ball was delivered

I stand corrected.

Except Cork. Cork are set up just to use their skills and do the right thing at the right time more often. If it needs a pull, pull, if it needs a short tap pass them do that etc. as well as taking your chances. At a glance sometimes Cork and Clare seem similar, but they are coming from slightly different mindsets. Clare are more tactical and structured.

But importantly both teams have total faith in their manager and the way they want them to play.

They both also celebrated semi final wins almost like a final at the whistle.

I believe it’s down for the weekend of 1st of Sept.

and rightly so …a ferocious competitor like you kev will know semi final is the worst match to lose … Cork are tactical , their half forwards pulled dublin half backs all over the field and made the spce for midfielders to hare through…and a lot of their backs are like to get in the faces of opponents…there´s defo a meaner streak in this cork team …
