I remember meeting Davy in the market the sat before the '97 AI final , he is as sound a man as you could meet but he was getting a bit lippy that day re limerick beating clare in '96, the day houlihan sledged baker and changed the course of the game. I’d move James Ryan back to midfield, it’s one area we can really get on top and build a platform. Nothing against Browne, he can come in and do a job, but Ryan is the man in form and the better hurler. This leaves it open to bring Hannon back to Centre H/F and Downes/Niall in full. I guess a lot will depend on injuries, but Hickey and Breen will start and be set out to stop the Clare H/B line delivering clean ball up the field. (@glasagusban- watched the Munster final proper last week and I did Breen a disservice in my immediate post match thoughts, he did well in fairness). Again, our delivery has to improve if we are to persist with the the FF drifting and leaving two small corner forwards as target men. A lot will depend on Tobins injury I suppose, but we look a lot more balanced when Hannon has gone on the square.

I wouldn’t move Ryan out midfield. Browne will have a big part in covering Kelly/Collins wandering about. He mixed good and bad the last day but the amount of ground he covers is unreal.

I reckon it’ll be an unchanged team presuming the injuries are cleared up. the system will stay the same. Clare had a platform off their half back line v Galway, they won’t get that against limerick. Ryan motm last day, he’ll wreak havoc v Clare, they won’t win a clean ball at centre back, leave him say put. I know I’m like a broken record but the only change I’d make is start downes if fit, for Tobin or mulcahy. We can start him without changing the system and I think our ff line will be more effective with him in it.
