It’s going to be like last year’s all Ireland final with limerick having to abandon their traditional free flowing whacking style to combat the negative defensive tactics employed by Clare.
If both teams are playing seven backs does it come down to which team is better able to take long range points? I think Clare are going to be far more competent and confident in playing their system than Limerick, this will be a new set up for us.
Not sure that is the case. A lot depends on the ref and what he decides are frees on the day - does he allow spare arm tackling, does he penalise over carrying as you end up with lots of bodies milling around.
Is it an option for Limerick to push up on the Clare defence and go man to man with them.
Recent results between the teams suggest the counties are sharing wins every second meeting. Clare’s record in Munster is dreadful. Clare missing irreplaceable players Galvin and Podge (and, eh, Bugler).
Clare’s two best players are gone. Take the two best players out of any team and they will be fucked. There is just no way Limerick can lose this game. Followed by a handy home game against our whipping boys Tipp, this is all working out lovely
The fact we are rolling into this game potentially without 3 all stars from two years ago and the game is evens is telling. Last time I checked Kelly is sill around too, who is the Limerick player of note again?
