[QUOTE=“Banner, post: 1143814, member: 2879”]Followed by ye shitting yerselves in Croke Park in August.
Sounds familiar alright.
What does the first sentence mean there? I suppose the main two players of note would be McCarthy, the best full back in the country over the last few years, and Hickey, the best corner back in the country. Dowling and Hannon will probably be recognised as fairly handy by the end of the summer. Ye do still have Kelly, a class class act, but I always rated Galvin and Podge as more important to Clare.
Wayne Mc is injured.
Wayne Mc, Dodge, possibly Downes to return to the team for the Tipp game will keep things fresh. Breen too as the season progresses. Everything is coming together nicely for limerick.
It’s fixed now.
Hickey isn’t the best corner back  Ritchie is great man to man but that won’t be happening aginst us. The other two are decent starters nothing else.
Podge isn’t part of this team, he has been replaced surprisingly effectively by another. Galvin is a huge loss but the team wasn’t built around him, it’s built around Kelly. Ask anyone who has seen him play in the flesh this year how he has progressed. He is a freak.
Make that 4 All Stars from 2013 if McGrath dosen’t start.
I’d rather morrissey, seanie o brien and dave reidy be thrown in at the deep end on Sunday than an all ireland final.
I think if we improve by 10% or so from the Kilkenny game then we should have enough. While McGrath would be a huge loss I would have plenty of faith innboth Bobby Duggan and Reidy to take scoring chances.
Given that Bugler is out and Morey is injured I think Cian Dillon would be a bigger loss for Sunday as we don’t have an able replacement. I would expect him to snuff out Cian Lynch fairly easily if he does play and is given that role

Gotcha. Richie has done pretty well as an extra man/sweeper in the past. Kelly is a freak, I agree, exceptional. I also think McGrath and O’Donnell are lethal forwards. The rest are all grand. But I don’t think any team can lose the likes of Podge and Galvin and not take a serious hit. People are talking about the loss of kilkennys retirees, only one of whom was a starting player, as damaging. Clare’s loss is greater.
I’m surprised Clare aren’t favourites given limerick’s recent form. Games between limerick and Clare are always 50/50, as recent results show.
The Roasters seem to be getting in a lot of excuses early…

We are down to the bear minimum player wise, if someone gets injured there will be shuffling all over the place. There is a talent reserve, the players replacing Galvin and Podge are off the same U21 teams. It’s young replacing young which isn’t a bad thing at all. Davy is going to be forced to use players in ways he doesn’t want to, ways that suit the players more so than his game plans.
There’s no doubt ye have a bag of talented young players. A good few of them arguably about the same level and possibly interchangeable. But even Clare will suffer a dip when replacing some of their best players with what’s in the reserves.
FWIW, I think the game is 50/50, I expect both teams will bring a performance, and if either team loses with a good performance they’ll probably still go far in the summer. I think we’ll win though, the baseless unrealistic expectations are kicking in.

Is Dillon very quick? I wouldnt think he’d have the pace to be staying with a roaming Cian Lynch.
Yes. He is a very effective man marker.
I thought him more of a Tom Condon type than a player man marking a player with scary pace.
