Limerick v Wexford- The Game to Break the Board

Head says Wexford, heart days Limerick. Both by 4 points

Ah, no, I didnā€™t

John mullane retired far too early

Sure he went off injured in the first half, thatā€™s hardly a surprising observation?

He has ongoing back / hip issues so Iā€™d say 3 games in 14 days would take a massive toll on him. The rest he got for the 2nd half will have done him good.

You most certainly did!

I sense a clamping coming hereā€¦

With 20 mins left today the score was 3-12 to 2-14. In the remaining 20 mins, both teams scored a total of 4 points - thatā€™s not good enough to defeat the likes of the 2013 Munster Champions

From February 25th this year on the national hurling league thread!

There is no or Waterford will beat Cork, I wouldnā€™t call The Clare game until closer to the day

Yup,thatā€™s a clamping!

Review of this years league game not that it matters a shit but how many of the same 15 are likely to.start for Wexford next week?

WEXFORD: M Fanning; K Rossiter, M Oā€™Hanlon, B Kenny; W Devereux, L chin, E Martin; D Oā€™Keeffe, H Kehoe; S Tomkins, P Morris, I Byrne; J Guiney, G Moore, L Ɠg McGovern.

Subs: R Jacob for Byrne (32), D Redmond for Morris (63).

Fanning, Rossiter (if fit), Oā€™Hanlon, Chin, Morris, McGovern all definites. Oā€™Keefe and Guiney probably too.

Itā€™s still hard to sum up Wexford imo. They remind me of Clare a bit last year in that they drive a lot of poor wides. Last year Clare then hit an accurate streak and everything was going over the bar for them. If Wexford hit a similar streak then they will be very hard to peg back.

Also Wexford seem to be strong in the areas where Limerick are weak in opposition. TJ Ryan should be in no doubt that if he starts the same half back line that Wexford will tear them to shreds based on what theyā€™ve showed in the last two games. Iā€™d expect Limerick to at least match their midfield where their also very strong.
However Waterford showed tonight that their fullback line wasā€™nt comfortable with the high balls coming in when Waterford brought Prendergast on. Last week Limerick isolated Dowling inside and pumped high ball in. Iā€™d like to see them do the same but with Downes inside. Thereā€™s goals there if they go for them.

Richie Mcarthy and the fullback line will have a battle on aswell as their full forward ;ine is very good but I think Limericks fullback line can hold them to a respectable level.
Wexford have no secrets now and the Limerick management better do their homework before this game.

Can you put up the link to that thread ? and Maybe we should look at the thread that actually covered the cork v wat game. I pulled up a few of the carkies who were on saying theyā€™d win a point a man , they got all upset . And of course were all very quiet the week after the draw

Wexford looked a bit vulnerable in the fullback line when Rossiter went off. His replacement (Devereaux??) made a few mistakes but that could be as much due to nerves as anything.

The movement of their forwards will trouble any team. The goal scored by Morris was top class - great movement, accurate pass, pace and fantastic finish. Our half backline wasnā€™t great last Sunday but Iā€™m not going to write them off after one below par display.

McDonald is the focal point of the Wexford attack. They look for him every time the ball goes long. Interesting to see how Teege and the brains-trust approach this. Any defender will struggle with McDonald when he gets quality ball like he did in the first half. Richie has been solid out over the last three campaigns but Iā€™d also consider Seamus Hickey as an option to mark him. Has the pace and craft to shackle him but then again heā€™s probably not as good as Richie at spoiling the ball in the air.

Can see it being very crowded out around the middle as both play either a one or two man full forward line. Should be a titanic battle. 1B hurling - magic.

Wexford will have a far bigger following there Iā€™d say, seemed to outnumber Waterford three or four to one last night.

ye are brill cant wait tell next week

True but limerick are no clare pall

Limerick will destroy them MY BALLS WAKE UP

Itā€™s ok relax mate
