I don’t think that Liverpool can complain too much about last night’s result. There were fine margins but Divock Origi’s goal against Everton was one hell of a fine margin.

I know it’s a cliche but this season is all about how Liverpool respond now. I think City will drop few points from here on in so Liverpool cannot afford any poor results. The bar is high but there you go.

Lovren is brutal.

Liverpool were too conservative - Klopp got his selection all wrong. City controlled the game without creating a lot but as you say, fine margins - Mane hits the post and it comes out, Leroy hit the post and in. Kompany gets sent off and we are all talking about Klopp the genius today. But the midfield was a shambles and that’s Henderson done for big games i’d say … Firmino needed to drop deeper to cause a bit f havoc like he did last year but we never saw it. They never pressed liked they did last year either - it was City that did all the pressing and put the Liverpool back 5 under severe pressure … and finally - Lovren.

When is Gomez back?

Klopp didn’t get it wrong. There was no need to go all-out away at Man City when a draw would have done. Playing a more adventurous midfield would have exposed TAA and Lovren even more. Fabinho was fine receiving the ball when he came on as City had dropped off by then.

You dont go out with a mentality to draw. Their success against City last year was from going at them and putting them under pressure - His selection was wrong - Henderson is a ham - Milner was just back after a 3 week absence. Leaving Firmino up top and not bring him deeper to cause troube also played into City’s hands — it was all too easy for City.

KOK.

Kompany’s challenge was nowhere near a Red Card. Even Scouse King Cunt Carragher said so last night.

Ah it was very dangerous - you can’t jump in the air with both feet off the ground. I’m not bemoaning it, but a lesser team/ player sees red there.

One foot was showing studs tbf but Salah did himself no favours rolling around like an idiot with no contact.
Klopp let the mask slip whinging like a little bitch in his Sky interview afterwards.

Shock horror- modern footballer feigns contact and manager is not happy with dangerous tackle.

He was away at the Champions with a 7 point league. A place where they lost 5-0 last year. The plan was to protect the back 4, especially Lovren and TAA. Understandable against that City attack. City didn’t create a whole lot in the first half. Lovren asleep and was a great finish by Aguero.

Are you rattled over this?
Do you fear a Stevie G Slip?

Lovren asleep?

He was going with the tried and tested trio but Henderson and Milner were not up it. City out-pressed and Pep outfoxed him last night. Letting Lovren have the ball and then winning the 2nd ball every time he hoofed it forward. Liverpool were only ever really on top for about 15 - 20 minutes around the time they scored

I’m not one bit rattled, mate. I’ve bigger concerns than the soap opera that is the EPL.

Like the Patriots tilt at the Superbowl …

Don’t sweat it pal, it’s a 38 game marathon, not a sprint. Still liverpool’s to lose.

Kompany’s profile saved him there, Van Dijk would’ve gotten away with it also but Shane Duffy or Wes Morgan get a red for that
