Liverpool’s next 3 league games:

Chelsea (H)
Hull (A)
Spurs (H)

@GeoffreyBoycott

If Liverpool fail to win more than 1 of these games, should Klopp be sacked?

Liverpool were never title contenders, @Nembo_Kid is the only one I’ve seen suggest that they could or should be and that’s only cause they’re paying the manager well.
Today’s result is a huge dent in their chances of champions league football next year which needs to be the next step.

Can is a liability. Running around like a big kid.

They’ll beat Chelsea and Spurs, and lose to Hull. It’s the Liverpool way.

If man united don’t finish above Liverpool then Mourinho should be sacked !!!

Oh I’m sorry, did little old Leicester City not win the league last season?

Brendan Rodgers had Liverpool as title contenders, he was sacked. Klopp came in on a massive contract because the job Rodgers did clearly did not meet expectations.

Anyone with sense would say that a top 4 finish and perhaps a cup win would be an incredibly good season for this Liverpool side. They’ve looked toothless when they haven’t had his first choice 11 out there. Real lack of squad depth.

If Liverpool finish outside the top 4 should Klopp be sacked?

Rodgers was sacked for two finishes outside the top 4 in between a sustained title challenge until the final day of the season.

Every team loses to teams with a lower wage budget occasionally mate. See Chelsea losing to a Spurs team with a much lower wage budget a few weeks ago. Wage budget does generally give a good indication of where teams end up though

So what’s Klopp’s excuse?

Why would he need an excuse?

The lion has been devoured by a swan.

If he finishes outside top 4 this season? No, I wouldn’t sack him. Liverpool have finished only twice in the top 4 since Rafa is gone, so it’s hardly an expectation that they’d make a top 4 team. If Liverpool were to regress next season (e.g. finished 5th this season, and then 7th the following season), then his job would certainly be under scrutiny in the summer of 2018.

I liked Rodgers, but he was on course for another season well outside the top 4 when he got sacked.

Anyway, there’s about as much point arguing about this with ye as you’ve a massive boner for slagging off Klopp. I may as well be pissing against the wind. Good day to you.

The exception that proves the rule

On course for another season outside the top 4? Rodgers was 3 points behind Leicester City when he was sacked. Liverpool ended 21 points behind Leicester City under Klopp.

Rodger was sacked because he couldn’t get Liverpool in the CL on a regular basis. Surely Klopp, a big name manager brought on a bumper contract brought into replace an underachieving manager should surely be under serious pressure if he achieves less in his first two season’s than the previous underachieving manager?

Kult of Klopp.

The expectation of mediocrity, how can he fail?

He is most likely going to finish in the top four though
