Who is home in Final

Disappointed with that. Klopp’s record in finals is poor so even if the get to the final I’d have my doubts if he’d get the better of Bayern or Madrid.

Bayern Munich / Real Madrid

Its hard to know with Liverpool. It depends how highly you rate Man City I suppose and I wouldn’t rate them that highly. I’d give Roma a good chance against them as they won’t be able to play on the counter and I don’t think their midfield is very good going forward. Then if they get to the final, I’d see Bayern or Real just being too solid and smart for them

I’m very happy with that draw. The team I wanted and the order of venues I wanted.

I think it’ll be a Liverpool v Bayern Munich final.

What’s rare is wonderful

First leg is Tuesday April 24th, second leg is Wednesday May 2nd.

I prefer the Tuesday/Wednesday split to the Wednesday/Tuesday one, especially with the second leg away.

Our preceding league fixtures are:
WBA (A) Saturday April 21st @12:30pm
Stoke (H) Saturday April 28th @12:30pm

Roma are in a fierce three way battle for one of the last two Champions League places with Lazio and Inter Milan.

Their preceding league fixtures are:
SPAL (A) Saturday April 21st @2pm
Chievo (H) Saturday April 28th @5:30pm.

About even in terms of difficulty there - neither team has a big league fixture against a main rival in close proximity to the semi-final ties, but Roma have more pressure on them to keep winning those league fixtures to secure Champions League qualification.

If we could pick up six points against Bournemouth and WBA, and Chelsea were to drop points away to Southampton or Burnley, that would be just great, as it would clinch Champions League qualification and would mean we could put out a reserve team against Stoke on the 28th whereas Roma won’t have that luxury.

I said months ago that our name is on the cup. I love it when a plan comes together.

+1. I think the two of us have been beating this drum for a while. I think I said at start of campaign that I’d be surprised if Klopp didn’t at least get them to last four

Another thing to note is that Roma have a derby against Lazio this Sunday, followed by a league fixture against Genoa on Wednesday the 18th of April, whereas we have no midweek fixture on the 17th/18th.

In a tight Champions League race, that will seriously test their squad.

Home wins for Crystal Palace over Brighton, Swansea over Everton and Huddersfield over Watford tomorrow, along with defeat for WBA at Old Trafford on Sunday, would see WBA officially relegated by the time they face on the 21st too, which would help with a view to our trip to The Hawthorns on April 21st.

I said something last May about our European prospects this season but I won’t quote it.

Think Dundalk were our representatives mate

You’re Italian mate.

Agreed… It’s a real 50/50 tie. Any team that knocks Barca out deserve respect. They will nullify Liverpool’s counter attacking, which is the type of team Liverpool have struggled against under Klopp.

EDF is a very shrewd tactician. He is our ace to trumping Liverpool.
