He’s unbelievable.

Having Totti finally fuck off has helped him no end.

Has it?

Thought offloading Salah was more influential tbh.

Easily his greatest achievement.

Once again I’m reminded of that famous Pyrrhic victory Liverpool achieved earlier in the competition and the gobshite that said it and tried to explain it
I really hope Liverpool can do it but it’ll take a bit of luck to get by Madrid, they’ll beat roma by 4 goals over two legs

Roma have much more pedigree in getting to where they are this year. Liverpool have not really faced any side with a good recent pedigree in the UCL. Roma have faced down and eliminated Chelsea, Atletico and Barca who have all won or contested finals in the CL in recent years. Liverpool have it all to prove.

Liverpool v Roma is liIke the Gaelic football semis in the 70s and 80s when Connaught met Ulster . You feel the winners will be cannon fodder for the big boys .

Liverpool in the European Cup are like a more successful version of Down in the All-Ireland football championship.

We’re never given a chance, but we have an innate swagger and confidence backed up by a glorious tradition, we never, ever fear anybody, we have the ability to come from nowhere to win it all, and when we reach the latter stages, we usually do win it all.

Not strictly true. First appearance in 1964/65 resulted in semi final defeat but the next four times the semi finals were reached, Liverpool went all the way to lift the trophy (albeit the 1984 final was drawn). Since the 1984 final in Rome, four semi final appearances have yielded just one trophy (and that in the lottery after the drawn 2005 final).

Barcelona eliminated Chelsea in the Round of 16. Up your game kid. That’s very basic stuff.

The holy trinity strike again

Having said that 7 semi final wins from 9 and lifting the trophy 5 times is an impressive haul at the business end compared to England’s other big side. Man U have won just 5 of their 12 European Cup semi finals and have lifted the trophy 3 times.

Congrats to the Salad King…
