Liverpool football Club 2019/20 - Champions

I still don’t get this TAA love-in. He’s a disaster at the back. He has a good cross but his primary purpose is to defend and he’s not very good at it.

He’s a major weaklink… TBF, he was a midfielder all his life

it isn’t. Full backs aren’t defenders anymore. His primary purpose is to overlap… create space for Salah, join in the attacks, be an outlet (he’s very good at it). he fills a space at the back… full backs for possession based teams aren’t defenders.

Full backs for Burnley and the like are defenders

While I agree, his positioning and instinct when defending is poor…

He should be capable of basic defending and he’s not.

that’s harsh. Salah gives fuck all protection down that side. Henderson covers a bit, when he’s fighting fires in the middle, TAA is told to tuck in. A quick switch and he’s one on one. With a winger in 10 yards of space.

I think he’s a fine player. And he’ll get much better.

He’s learning alright. I’ll give him that much.

De gea isn’t injured.

why would De Gea be discussed in the Liverpool thread?

You said the best keeper in the league is out for six weeks.

Is Ederson injured?

Yes, he is out for 6 weeks as has been discussed above.

It’s his lack of awareness as to what’s happening around him. He’s too much of a ball watcher. Salah actually allows him the space to look better going forward than he actually is. He has a good cross but other than that I see nothing to justify the hype.

he can score from a free kick. He’s very very quick, he’s young. He’s comfortable taking the ball in tight spots and has played in some very big games at a very young age.

he is quality mate

Can happen the best of us. The calving jack is an essential really.

Shur didn’t Sean O Brien rip a calf in two once, nasty business.

A moo calf or a muscle?

A baba moo cow.
