They moan about Ole being shit in Europe but I blame Fergie. He had the teams to make Utd European royalty but failed miserably. Pedigree goes a long way. You had Atleti celebrating like they’d won it out earlier this year and then losing to a shite team the next day out.

Ah sure they’d only have about 7 league titles in their entire history if it wasn’t for Ferguson. He is Man United. But yes 3 European cups is a poor return over the last 60 odd years when you compare it to 13 of Real Madrid. Over his career and considering how dominant they were domestically it’s a poor return. He was regularly exposed in Europe truth be told.

In hindsight Ferguson presided over the weakest period of English football when English teams were the whipping boys of Europe.
