Liverpool Football Club 2025/26

The problem isn’t the calibre of player . There’s absolutely no fight in them whatsoever.

The Anfield leg is on a Tuesday night unfortunately.

It was 2005. I’d agree though. Although Finnan, Riise, Carragher or Hyppia, Gerrard and Alonso would probably make the current team. Far more attacking talent in the current set-up but I’m not sure Slot has Rafa’s ability to set-up a defence.

I think they will surprise you. This reminds me very much of the 2006 season. Struggling for a CL spot in the domestic league.

Better calibre of player than 2006. In 3 one off ties, they might well do the unlikely

Mea culpa. Thought they were unlucky to go out to PSG last year. Were definetely the better team in the second leg in Anfield. PSG struggled to score against them. 1 goal over the two legs.

I share your optimism that anything can happen with Liverpool in the Champions League and they’re only 5 games from winning it out. There’s a stronger chance of PSG playing through them again and making it count this time. But hopefully the prospect of one final tilt at the Champions League knockouts can rouse the older lads like Salah and Van Dijk.

There’s an obvious disconnect between the fans and the club/players now. It won’t easily be fixed

Salah scored in the last round, obviously against weaker opposition.

Could well be his swansong and Van Dijk.

It’s arguably the worst Liverpool team in my lifetime… if the league wasn’t so bad they’d be 10th + in the league…

Ah the team under Hodgson was considerably worse with lads like Poulsen and Konchesky starting regularly. Rodgers post-Suarez too. This team have talent but don’t have the character of the side Klopp built. Heads drop too easily.

A crowbanger every 15 minutes wouldn’t rouse them…. Signed off months ago.

In the league? 10 times and counting. They lost 14 in 2004-05, 2010-11 and 2011-12.

Lost 14 times in the league in 2004/5 year and won the CL

10 times in probably the worst league in living memory…

PSG could have scored 6 in the home tie but for Allison . Kelleher in goals for that and the second leg was irrelevant

Should have scored more for sure in thr first leg but Alison is still in goals. Liverpool dominated the 2nd leg in Anfield.

Liverpool have tradition and pedigree in Europe

Tradition and pedigree counts for fuck all when a team is playing to get the manager sacked.

You don’t have much respect for the players you support clearly. Don’t bother going to see Ireland heros and now the Liverpool ultras can boo or fuck off to the pub whenever the tide turns

Youl be abusing the Limerick lads before long

We ll see mate. Footballs a funny old game. Plenty of managers have been sacked on the back of just winning silvereware, Moyes, Ange, Jose and Van Gaal are just a few that spring to mind.

Matteo didnt last long after delivering a CL for Chelski. Wonder will Slot have a similar back story?
