Joe Cole to get a £3 million pay off
That is sick
Joe Coles agent must be some legend of a negotiator.
Presumably the argument to LFC is: either pay £3 million now or Joe will sit here for the next 18 months happily just training every day and cost you between £4-5 million.
Woy Hodgson signed him on a ridiculous wage.
Was he not signed on a free though CM?
He was, Woy wanted him, the club got him. In fairness, it was the old regime who signed him, not the current Americanos. Cole was very much wanted by lesser clubs so to secure his wonderful services the club offered big wages. Anyway, good luck and good riddance. Carra, Downing and Carroll next and the wage bill will have been reduced massively.

They are playing above average, doing the basics right which in hindsight of the last 18 months gives the appearance that they are playing out of their skins. It’s good to see that both are not such liabilities and a bit of competition has played its part there. Joe Allen when he came on in his natural position tho showed he is well ahead of Hendo in both development and pecking order. Fair play to hendo for putting the head down and battling away.[/quote]
Hendo got a standing ovation when he came off. His work rate has improved big time.
Sahin should have come on instead of Allen. I can only assume the rumours of his loan spell being cut short are true.
Also, the number 9 shirt is still up for grabs, bring on David Villa!
Or even Messi!
I forgot about Sahin being there.
What’s his story?

He was away for a few games with a broken nose or something. He just hasn’t got much of a look in, especially since Lucas came back. Arsenal will be seething no doubt if we manage to cancel his loan and goes abroad somewhere.
Cole is receiving a 1/3 of what he would have earned as payoff. I presume the remaining 2/3s is paying Sturridge’s wages. If he had been bought for 8m it would have been good business all round, but if he scores goals It’s all gravy.
Rodgers in The Guardian saying Sturridge is likely to play through the middle with Suarez moving to a #10 role or playing wide of a front three defending on tactics/opposition. Says he’s been planning it for a while and has had numerous conversations with Suarez about it.
This club is a fucking joke, a laughing stock. The obscene money they have spent on flop transfers in years and now letting this charlatan Joe Cole character tear up his contract with £3million in compensation. I have gone to the trouble of documenting some of these failures below for comedic value:
Jermaine Pennant £8m - played with an ankle tag so the police could monitor his whereabouts
Ryan Babel £15m - flopped and was sold for half that to a mediocre German outfit
Adrea Dossena £7.9m - disaster signing and sold for in the region of £3m back to Italy
Albert Riera £8.6m - sold less than 18 months later for in the region of £3m
Robbie Keane £21m -
Glen Johnson £18m - stole a toilet seat from B&Q
Alberto Aquilani £17.6m - played 18 times for the club during a three year period, eventually moving on for an “undisclosed fee”
Christian Poulsen £4.8m - appeared 12 times for the club before leaving for ‘Evian’ on an “undisclosed fee”. Never heard of them
Charlie Adam £7.3m - lard ass hun cunt, sold to Stoke for you guessed it an “undisclosed fee” when the scousers realised he was shit
Jordan Henderson £15.8m - played well while on loan at lowly Coventry City so the merseysiders splashed out, another dud
Stewart Downing £20m - plays as an attacking left winger and took an incredible 45 games before he mustered up an assist or goal
Andy Carroll £36m - recently gouged a photographer in Dublin in his beer stained all white suit, is on loan somewhere else
Nuri Sahin £4.4m on a season long LOAN - has played 7 times and the scousers are expected to end his loan after just 6 months
Joe Allen £16.7m - who is this guy
Fabio Borini £11.7m - Chelsea reject, the striker has yet to score for the reds
Daniel Sturridge £13.2m - Chelsea AND Manchester City reject
If anyone has any problems or questions about my list please feel fee to ask.
Excellent summary Dunph
Sturridge wasn’t a Man City reject.

Great work dunph.
Another example of tfk’s finest mind.

Think they said on SSN in last few days that Liverpool have spent £158m on British “talent” since 2008-whoever is in charge of transfers there should be shot.
First off, most of those figures are wrong, too much in some cases, too little in others.
Borini has appeared 5 times in the league, can hardly be judged on that. He has scored in the Europa Cup.
Allen and Henderson are both only 22- I’ll leave that one there.
Glen Johnson?
Sturridge, while I didn’t want him, hasn’t even kicked a ball yet and both city and Benitez wanted to keep him. Hardly a reject, and let’s keep the abuse until this time next year.
You never heard of Evain? Have you heard of a country called France?
Like every club, there have been disasters. Take Carrol and Downing off that list and it would read like most other clubs in the dame period.
Overall, great work Dunph. Easily displaying why you are one of the sharpest minds on the board.
