Lockdown 2021 Run Challenge

I’m 42.9km from 11 runs in 2021 so far. Doing a shorter loop some mornings if I’m pushed for time so pulling my average run length down, but could never do more than 5km in any venture in any case. Still plodding away at a slow pace, nearly collapsed when I ran a “fast” 3.5km the other morning. Overall, I need to sort out the diet first to get back to my 5min/km prime. It might never happen.

I was like that for ages, just pick a 6 / 7km loop which means you have to run it. You’ll be surprised that’s it’s not that hard to keep going

A short 3k only … Had a lovely flat route picked out as my calf is still a little bit tight… As I got to the entrance to Garryduff woods a few dog walkers stopped me saying there was a man with a knife acting up down the path and not to go in, the guards on the way… I hate not having a route. I then had to go up a few inclines and sure enough the calf got tight so I called it.

17k of 50 done.

I also lost 20 seconds when I was stopped. I should have ran on, a man with a knife is standard in Limerick.

You probably would have been fine - with all the heat currently on the guards they are a little more restrained with their ammunition.

Not me. I ran a full 4.3k then jumped in for a swim… I’m now tidying all the drawers in my bedroom. Living not existing.

I did 12k. We’ve just had the carpets cleaned so I can’t go in the telly room, the bedroom, or anywhere upstairs in general for three fcuking hours (he said a few, which I translated as three)

By the way, little fella gone back to the eye specialist yesterday! A spell in glasses but it’s nowhere near as bad this time and hopefully he’ll grow out of it!

17k of 50 done.

Am going to try hit 50k this month too. I doubt I’ll reach it though, will need to get out twice on a wknd to make up the distance, only 15 done. Mid week is too dark before I start and when I finish, not many street lights around here! Work load is backed up after last week so no chance of sneaky lunch time runs. Will see how it goes sure.

Covid has fucked us mortgage wise… Mrs on pup for most of the year so we were hoping to pull the trigger around now but god knows when we will now… So you gotta get on with life. House up the road came up, huge back garden etc so we jumped at it, despite the fucking price. It kinda makes the move worse as I’ve to go up and down our steps and walk to the gaff instead of loading a van in one go.
